Shall the City of Palo Alto incur a bonded'1ndebtedness in the pr1nc1pal amount or $250,000.00 for the obJect and purpose or acquiring, constructing and completing the rollowing municipal improvements, to wit: additions and improve- ments to the water d1str1bu.t1on system or the City ot Palo Alto, 1n~lud1ng extension or water d11tr1but1on tac111t1es, pipes, pipe lines~ pumping equipment, water conditioning, and other works, property or struc- tures necessary or convenient for improving the mW'li- c1pal water system or the City ot Palo Alto? PROPOSITION #2. Shall the City of Palo Alto incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount or $200,,000.00 tor the object and purpose or acquiring, constructing and completing the following municipal improvements, to wit: additions and improve- ments to the gas distribution ayatem of the City or Palo Alto, including pipes, conduits and other rae111- t1es, equipment and appliances, works, property or structures necessary or convenient for the gas d1str1- but1on system or the City of Palo Alto? PROPOSITION #3. Shall the City ot Palo Alto incur a bonded indebtedness in the pr1~c1pal amount or $500,000.00 tor the object and purpose or acquiring, constructing and completing the following municipal improvements, to wit: additions and improve- ments to the electric d1otr1but1on system of the City ot Palo Alto, including conduits, cables, tranarormera, and other rac111ties, equipment and appliances, land and other works, property or structures necessary or convenient ror the electric d1str1but1on syl!ltem ot the City or Palo Alto? PROPOSITION #4. AJCD WHBRBA.,, due and legal notice ot sa1d epec1al election.was given as required by law and by aaid ordinance; and llHBRK.AS, on the 8th da7 or May, 1951, at the hour or seven o'clock 1n the mornia.:g or said day,, the polls were duly a.nd re- gularly opened tor ea1d election in sa1d city~ and said polls .,,.re continuously kept open ror aa1d.purpoee fro• the time they wer$ ao opened until aeYen o'clock in the afternoon or said day, and during said hours or said 8th.day ot Play, 1951, a special election was held 1n said C1ty or Palo Alto, on aaid propos1t1ona, and 1n accordance with said ordinance; and VH:CRXAS, immediately thereafter said special election was regul:irly and duly canvassed by the du.ly constituted ort1cers by law appointed tor that purpose, and the result or said election was thereafter made and delivered to the Council or said c1ty, as by law and by said ordinance required; and WHEREAS, 56 absentee ballots were given and cast in accordance with the prov1a1ons or Section 3 of Ordinance 1335 calling the above mentioned special election. That the total number or absentee ballots cast in said election upon Proposition #1 was 56 votes, of wh1oh total number of votes so given and cast, there were given and cast 50 votes 1n ravor of said proposition and 6 votes against said propos1t1on. That the total number or absentee ballots cast in said election uµon Proposition #2 was 56 votes, .ot wh.1ch total number of votes so given and oaat, there were given and cast 47 votes in favor of said proposition and 9 votes against said proposition. That the total number or absentee ballots aast in said election upon Proposition #3 was 56 votes, or which total number or votes so given and cast, there were given and cast 49 votes in favor of said ~ropoo1t1on and 7 votes against said proposition. That the total number or absentee ballots cast in said election upon Proposition #-was 56 votes, of which total number or votes so given and cast, there were given and cast 35 votes in favor or said proposition and 21 votes against said proposition. The the total number or votes given and cast at said elec- tion upon Proposition #1 was 5914 votes, of which total number or votes so given and cast, there were given and cast 4883 votes in ravor of said proposition and 1031 votes against said proposition. 98 That the total number of votes given and cast at said election upon Proposition #2 was 5878 votes, or which total number of votes ao given and cast, there were given and caat 4796 votes in favor or said proposition and 1082 votes against said. proposition. 'l'hat the total number or votes given and cast at said election µpon .Propos1 tlon #4 was 5831 votes g or whleh total number or votes so given and cast, there were given and cast 2995 votes in favor or said proposition and 2836 votes against said propoa1t1on; and That the total number of votes given and cast at said election upon Proposition 115 was 5852 votes, of which total number or votes so given and caat, there were given and cast 4172 votes in favor or said proposition Emd 1680 votes against said proposition; and, WHEREAS, 1n order to authorize the 1ncurr1ng of indebtedness and the issuance or bonds therefor upon any proposition submitted at any special election called and held for that purpose, there muat be given and cast for and 1n favor of said proposition so submitted and voted upon, the votes or at least two-thirds or all the voters voting at said special election; NOW, THERE.FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby resolved: (1) That a special election was duly and regularly called and held in all things according to ordinance or said City or Palo Alto, duly adopted for the otjects and purposes therein specified, and according to the lawe or the State of Cal1.forn1a. NOW ,t TnEHEFORE, BE IT F'URTHER RESOLVED that bonds of the City of Palo Alto in the sum of $250,000.00 for Proposition #1 be issued, being for the acquisition, construction and completion or additions and improvements to the Water Distribution System or the City of Palo Alto; That bonds of the City of Palo Alto in the sum Cf $200,000.00 for Propo~ltion #2 be issued, for the acquisition, construction and completion of additions and improvements to the Gas Distribution System of the Clty of Palo Alto; That bonds or the City of Palo Alto 1n the sum of $500,000.00 for Proposition #3 be issued, for the acqu1s1t1on, construction and ·::omp1et1or1 of addi t1ons and improvements to the Electric D1s- tr1b·..ition System of the City of Palo Alto; That bonds or the City of Palo Alto in the sum of $150,000.00 for l)ropos1 tion #5 be issued, for the acquis1 t1on, construction and ·::ompletion of public parks, recreational centers, landscaping and ':rnildings and other works properties or structures necessary for :recreational purposes. The above and foregoing resolution was duly passed by the Coun·::11 or the City of Palo Alto at a regular meeting on the 14th day 1')f May, 1951, by the following vote: AYES: Blois, Bowden, Bower, Cashel, Cathcart, Drysdale, Gaspar, Hill, Mitchell, Montreuil, Wick~tt.
