REQUESTING PAYMENT OF ASSESSMENT FOR SE\iERS
BY PALO ALTO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
PROJECT NO. 51-5

RESOLVED, by the Council or the City of Palo Alto, Caltt>rnia,
WREREAS, thie Council hae undertaken proce~d1ngs pursuant to
Article V of the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code for the
construction or vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer mains, wye
branches, riaers and house laterals,. together with standard man-
holes and cast 1ro·n ma.rihole and r1se1 rramee and cove!rs in public
5treets and eaeements proposed to be acquired, fronting on property
o.f the Palo Al to Unified School D1str1ct b!'tween D:l.aa Road and
Charleston Road in Palo Alto, and tor assessing the cost thereof
upon a district benefited thereby, which d1str1ct and the exterior boundari~s thereof are more particularly aet forth in Resolution
of Intention No. 2094 adopted by this Council on April 9,
1951., to which reference is hereby made for further particulars;
WHEREAS, thie Council caused to be prepared and prel1m1nar1ly
approv~d an assessment appo·rt1on1ng and spreading the estimated co~ts thereof u-pon the properties bene:t'i ted thereby where1r1 the
parcel of la.rid own@d by the Palo Alto Unified School D1str1ct was
aaaess for $5,203.86, which amount 1s oubJect to be incr~a-
a~d or decreased upon receipt and analysis of bids for the work;
WHEREAS, the amount of said assessment 1e the fair portion
of the estimated cost or said project in the same proportion as all
other properties in said assessment district are asseeaed; and
WHEREAS~ the source of revenue and persons interested 1n the
use or said school district property are greater 1n area than the
exterior boundaries or either the assessment district or the City
of Palo Alto and the assessment may therefore he more equitably
paid from funds or the District than by the P~v~erty owners within
said aeeessment district or from runde or ea1d City;
NOW, THEREFORE, request 1s hereby made that the Board of
Edueat1on or Palo Alto Unified School District adopt a resolution
authorizing and d1rect1ng payment or the sum or $5,203.86, or
said sum as adjusted arter receipt or bids, to the City or Palo Alto.
The City Clerk is authorized and directed to send a eert1f1ed
copy or this resolution to the Palo Alto Unified School District.
