OF INTENTION TO MODIFY PRBLl'.MDrARY PROCEEDINGS
PROJBCT NO. 51-1 THIRD STREIT, et al.
ACQUISITION AND IMPROVBMINT
RESOLVKO, by the Council of the C1ty or Palo Alto, Cal1torn1a,
that the public convenience and necessity require and it 1s the
intention of the said Council to modify the preliminary proceedings
under Resolution No. 2067 of Prel1mlnary Determination, adopted
February 13, 1951, as follows:
1. Add the improving or Third. Street between Sheridan Avenue
and Page Mill Road by acquiring 11 feet on the southwest side and
9 feet on the northea8t Bide thereof, by grading, removing trees
and existing structures, constructing or reconstructing Portland
cement concrete curbs, sidewalks, driv~way aprons, storm water
catch baoins and drain pipe, constructing crushed rock base pave-
ment with asphalt1c concrete wearing surface between gutter lips,
constructing vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer services, copper
or galvanized iron pipe water services and wrapped steel pipe gas
services.
2. Add the improving of Third Street from California Avenue
to Grant Avenue by acquiring 11 feet on each side thereof, and
from Grant Avenue to Sheridan Avenue by acquiring 11 feet on the
southwest side and 9 feet on the northeast side thereof, by grad-
ing, removing trees and ex1st1ng structures, constructing or
reconstructing Portland Oement concrete curbt"J, sidewalks, driveway
aprons, storm water catch basins and drain pipe, constructing
aephalt1c concrete wearing surface between gutter lips, construct-
ing v1tr1fied clay pipe sanitary sewer services, copper or galvan-
ized iron pipe water services and wrapped steel pipe gas services.
3. Add the improving of the Northeasterly side of Alma
Street from Colorado Avenue to Matadero Creek by grading, removing
trees and ex1et1ng structures and constructing crushed rock base
pavement with aaphalt1c concrete wearing surface from the existing
center str1p pavement to the lip or the ex1st1ng concrete gutter.
4. Extend the boundaries of the assessment district to
include the consolidated and composite areas or all of the parcels or property fronting on said additional works and acquisitions,
together with all properties fronting on any stret:t within one-
half block of an intersection which is being improved hereunder,
and the exterior boundaries of said district are hereby extended
to include the coterminous boundaries or said composite and con-
solidated area. The properties so benefited, and the boundaries
thereor, &l"e more pax~t1cula.rly shown on the map or said assess-
ment d1stl'ict on t.·11('t 1n the office 01· the City Engineer, to
which reference is horeby made f'or a more detailed description
thereor.
5. The wor•k and proceedings hereby proposed to be undertaken
are subject to all of the provisions or Reaolut1on No. 2067 or I
Preliminary Determination,, to which resolution reference is made 1 for rurther particulars. __ ,
6. Notice 1s hereby given that Monday, the 12th day or
March, 1951, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., at the Council
Chambers of the Council in the City Hall, are hereby fixed as the

7. The City Clerk shall give notice of the adoption or th1a
resolution by publishing a Mot1ce or Mod1f1oat1on or Hotiea or
Proposed Local Improvement once in the Palo Alto Times, a daily
newapaper published and circulated 1n said City and b7 posting
aaat on or near the Council Chamber door, a&1d posting and publica-
tion to be at least ten daye before the date of hearing.
