The Council o:r the City or Palo Alto DOES RESOLVE as follows:
That the Public interest and necessity require the ac-
quisition by the City of Palo Alto or certain lands in reeror the following uses, to wit:
(a) For the erection and 1netallat1on or electric
sub-stations, together with all ne~essary appurtenances
and equipment connected therewith, to be used 1n the
maintenance and operation or the electric utility of the City or. Palo Alto.
(b) For such other public u.ti 11 ty uses for the
City of Palo Alto a.s may be necessary 1n the oper-·
ation and maintenance or the electric, gas and water
utilities or said c1ty.
The purposes and uses to which sa1d larAds will be put are
planned in a manner which will be most compatible with the greatP.st
public good and the lea~t private 1nJury.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Arnold Rumwell, City Attorney
or the City of Palo Alto, be and he 1a hereby directed and em-powered;
To acquire :l.n the name of the City of Palo Al to, a m·Jn1-
c1pal corporation or the State of California, the hereinafter
described real property, or interest in real property, by con-
demnation 1n accordance with the provisions of the Code or Civil
Procedure and of the Constitution of the State of California
relating to eminent domain;
To prepare and prosecute in the name or the City or Palo
Alto such proceeding or proceedings 1n the proper court having
,Jurisd~.ction thereof as are necessary for such acquisition;
To make application to said court for an order fixing the
amount of such security 1n the wa.y of money deposits as said
court may direct, and for an order permitting the City of Palo
Alto to take immediate possession and use or said real property,
or 1ntell'l3t in real property., ror the purposes set forth above;
To make deposit of such security out of proper funds urider
the control or the Controller of the City or Palo Alto, in such
~mo~nt so fixed and determined, and 1n such manner as such court
in which such condemnation proceedings are pending, may direct.
The real property, or 1ntere$ta in real property, which
the C~ty of Palo Alto is by this resolution determining to con-
demn f"or public uses, ia situated in the County of Santa Clara,
State of California, and described as follows, to.wit:
Parcel 1. That certain parcel of real property located
1n the City of Palo Alto, County or Santa Clara, State or Cal-
ifo~nia, and more part1c~larly described as follows, to w1t:
COMMENCING at the point of intersection of the
Southeasterly line of Oregon Avenue with the dividing
line between Lots l and 7 in Block 200, South Court
Addition, as said lines, lots and block are shown
upon a map of said Addition recorded June 17 , 1929,

feet; thence along an arc of 15.00 feet radius curving
to the right through a central angle of 90° for an arc
length of 23.56 feet to a point upon said Southeasterly
line of Oregon Avenue; thence Northeasterly along said

mencement, being a po1"tlon of' Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 1n said Block No. 200, South Court Addition,,. and a

together with a strip of land 20 feet in width (formerly

Santa Clara County, Ca11forn1a; thence from said point of
commencement Northwesterly 424.08 feet 4ong said center line of
Greer Road; thence Northeasterly and perpend.1cularly
to said line of Greer Road 640.ll feet to the North-
easterly 11ne of Lot 145 of said subdivision; thence
Southeasterly along said NorttJeasterly line (which 1s
also the Northeasterly line of. a 50 foot Reserve as
