RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1966
FOR THE CLOSING OF PORTIONS OF THE INTERSECTIONS OF
FERNANDO AVENUE, MA..~GARITA AVENUE,, MATADERO AVENUE AND
WILTON AVENUE WITH BL CAMINO REAL
The Councn of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows:
That it ls the intention of the Council of the City of Palo
Al to to order the .following work· and improvement to be done in sald city, to-wit:
Section 1. (1) That that portion or the northerly 1nter-
aectlon of Pernando Avenue and El Camino Real,, 1n the
City of Palo Alto, more particularly described as that
parcel of real property

COMMENCING at the point of .intersection or the line
dividing Lots 21 and 22 .1n Block 6 and the Southwest-
erly line of Lot 21 as said lines, lots and block are
nhown upon "Map of Subdivision No. 2 or the Bartley
Tract", recorded at page 55 in Book "N" of Maps, Re-
cordr.; or Santa Clara County, Cal:1..fornia,, thence East-
erly along an arc of 30 feet rad1ua curving to the left
for an arc distance of 47.07 feet to a point upon the
Southeasterly lj.ne of said Lot 22 distant thereon
Southwesterly 85.5 feet from its intersection with the
dividing line between Lots 18 and 22; thence South-.
westerly along the prolongation of the aa1d Southeasterly j
line 30 feet to its intersection with the Southeasterly
prolongation or the said Southwesterly line of Lot 21; · -
thence Northwesterly along the said Southeasterly pro-
longation 30 feet to the point of commencement, conta1n-

(2) That that portion of the easterly intersection of
Fernando Avenue and El Camino Real, 1n the City of Palo
Alto. more particularly described as that parcel of real property,
COMMENCING at the point or intersection of the line
dividing Lots 26 and 27 1n Block 5, and the Southwesterly
line of r .. ot 27 as said lines, lot and block are shown
upon "Map of Subd:1v1s1on No. 2 of the Bartley Tract",
recorded at page 55 in Book 11 N11 o.f Maps, Records or
Santa Cla:r•a. County, California; thence Northerly along
an arc or 30 feet radius curving to the right for an arc
distance o.t' 47.18 feet to a point upon the NorthwestP.rly
line of said J..ot 26 distant thereon Southwesterly 84.81
feet from the Northerly corner or said Lot 26; thence
Southwesterly along the Southwesterly proloncat1on of
said Northwesterly line 30.05 feet to its intersection

Section 2. That in the opin1on of said Council no assessment
1s necessary for this proceedir;g.
Section 3. Said work ar~J improvement is to be had and taken
pursuant to the provisions 01· Ordinance No. 844 of the City of Palo
Alto, commonly known ar.j desi1.rk~ted as the Palo Alto Improvement
Procedure Code, said ordinance havlng been adopt-ed ·oy the Council
of the C1 ty of Palo AH:o on the 13th day of January, 1941.
Section 4. For a pqrticular descr1pt:!.on of the work to be
done hereunder reference .1.;:i hereby made to that certain map or
plat on file with the Supertntencent of Streets or the City of
Palo Alto and entitled "Map or the closing of certain parcels of
land at intersections of the Bartley Tract" prepared November 8,
1948 by Fabian S. Miller, Street Superintendent.
Section 5. Notice is hereby g:t ven that Monday, the 10th day
of April, 1950, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. at the Council Chambers
of the City Council of said City, in the City Hall, Palo Alto,
Cal1forn1a, be and the same is hereby set as the day, hour and
place where and when any and all persons having any objections to
the proposed work or 1mprovemen·ts, may appear before said Council
and show cause why said proposed work should not be carried out
in accordance with this resol~t1on.
Section 6 .. ~he Du1ly Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper
published and circulated in the City of Palo Alto, of general
ctrculation, is hereby designated as the newspaper ln which the
City Clerl< of the C.t ty of Palo Al to shall cause to be published
in the manner and form required by law, a copy of this Resolu-
tion o.f' Intention, by caus:l.ng same to be published twice in
said newspaper prior to the date of the hearing of objections
t.o the proposed work and improvement.
Section 7. 11he Superintendent of Streets of said City
shall cause to be conspicuously posted on one side of each
street between each two intersection ctreets, along the line
of said contemplated work and improvement, notices of the passage
of this resolution of intention in the time, manner and form
prescribed by luw.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto, held on the 13th day of March, 1950, by the
following vote:
