All City ernpl0yee8, with the exception of those employed ln the Police and Fire Services, shall be governed by the following regulations for retirement purposes: l. All employees attaining the age of a1xty-f1ve years and w~th twenty years' service with the California State Employees' Retirement System shall retire from the Mun~cipal Service. 2. Any employee attaining the i'lge of sixty-five years., with less than twenty years' service with the Cal1. forn.ia State Employees 1 Retirement System sh;:i.1:::. retire upon the completion or twenty years' service w1th sald system or at age seventy, whichever 1s the earlieI'. 3. Any oppointing authority of the City of Palo Alto may declare that these regulations be waived in cases of administrative necessity; however~ eAch continued em- ployment in excess of the age and service requirements herein set forth shall be for one year'e duration only, and specific action will be required annually for each specific case. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palo AJ.to held on Monda.y, the 9th day of January, 1950, by th~ following vote: AYES: Bolander, Bowden, Cashel, Cathcart, Freedman, Gaspar, Hill, Linder, Mitchell, Montro1l11, Morten, Wickett. NOES: None. ABSENT: Bentrott, Blois, Bower.
