CALLING FOR SEA.LED PROPOSALS
CALIFORNIA AVENUE DISTRICT ACQUISITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT NO. 48-9
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City or Palo Alto,
California,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palo Alto did
on the 26th day or July, 1948, adopt its Resolutlon No. 1721
of Intention to order work to be done and 1mprovemento to be
made in said City, all as more particularly described and set
forth in said Resolution or Intention; and
WHEREAS, on December 12, 1949,, the said City Council adopted
Resolution No. 1921~ Ordering Change and Modification of Pro-
ceedings, and on January 9, 1950, adopted its Resolution
No.1933 of Intention to Modify Proceedings, reference to
which 1s hereby made for a particular desc1"1Pt1on 01· the work
to be done;
NOW, THEREB'ORE, the City Clerk of' said City 1s hereby di-
rected to publish in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper or general
circulation, printed., published and circulated in said City and
hereby designated by sa1d Council for that purpose, a Notice
Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for ~oing the work and making
the improvements descr~.bed '·n said Resolution of Intention, as
modified and proposed to be modif:l.ed, and referring to the
plans and specifications on file in the offlce of the City
Clerk.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a chec~<"
payable to the City of Palo Alto certified by a responsible
bank for an amount which Bhall not be less than ten per cent
(1Q%j of the a.gg;,•ega.te of the proposal, or by a bond for said
amovnt and so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties,
who shall justify before any officer competent to administer
oaths, in double the said amount, and over and above all
statutory exemptions.
Said. sea.led proposals shall be d~l1vered to t~e Clerk of
said City Council, to-wit: The City Clerk, on or before 3:00
o'clock P.M. of Monday~ the 6th day of March, 1950, aa!d time
being not less than ten days from the time of the first
publication of said notice. Bids will be opened, examined
and declared on said day and hour by the Board of Public Works
of said City, in the Council Chamber 1n the City Hall of
said City, who shall report to the City Council :1.ts findings~
wh1ch findings shall be considered by said Council at 1ta
rueeting to be held at said place on Monday, March 13, 1950, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. ·

I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of
resolution adopted by the City Council or the C1ty or Palo Alto,
California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 9th day or January, 1950., by the following vote or the members thereof:
