RES OLUTI ON N0. 1788
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CLOSING OF THE WESTERLY
37i FEET OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 1, ALBA PARK
ADDITION OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO, ABUTTING LOTS
7 AND 12.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto did on
the llth day of October, 1948, pass its Resolution of Intention
No. 1777 to order the following work and improvement to be done
in said city, to wit:
That the westerly 37i feet of the alley in
Block 1, Alba Park Addition of the City of
Palo Alto, abutting Lots 7 and 12, be closed
and abandoned.
AND, WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets did th,reupon
cause notice of the passage of said Resolution of Intention to be
posted in the form and manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk caused a similar notice to be
published twice in the Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper
published and circulated in the City of Palo Alto, which newspape.-
was described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1777 by the
Council as the official newspaper in which said notice should be
published; and
WHEREAS, no objections have been filed against; said
proposed work and improvement and more than ten (10) days have
elapsed after the expiration of the publication of said notice
of the passage of said Resolution of Intention, and the City Council
has acquired jurisdiction to order said work and improvement as
proposed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto DO
RESOLVE as follows:
That the westerly 37i feet of the alley in Block 1, Alba
Park Addition of the City of Palo Alto, abutting Lots 7 and 12, be
and the same is hereby closed and vacated.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto, held on the 8th day of November, 1948, by the
following vote:
AYES: Blots, Bowden, Cashel, Freedman, Gaspar, Hill, Linder,
Merner, Montrouil, Morten, Tholts, Wlckett.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Bentrott, Bolander, Mitchell.
