HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 177741 9, RESOLUTION NO. 1777 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION FOR THE CLOSING OF THE WESTERLY 374 FEET OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 1, ALBA PARK ADDITION OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO. The Council of the City of Palo Alto 1.)0 RESOLVE as follows: Section 1. That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Palo Alto to order the following work and improve- ment to be done in said city: That the westerly 374 feet of the alley in Block 1, Alba Park .Addition, abutting Lots 7 and 12., be closed and abandoned. Section 2. That in the opinion of the Council no assess- ment is necessary for this proceec'.ing. Section 3. Said work and improvement is to b:e had and taken pursuant to the provisions of Article 3 of Ordinance 844 of the City of Palo Alto commonly known and designated as the ?alo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, said ordinance having been adopted by the Council of the City of Palo Alto on January 13, 1941. Section 4. For a more particular description of the work to be done hereunder reference le hereby made to that certain map or plat on file with the Superintendent of Streets of the City of Palo Alto and entitled "Map for the closing of the westerly 374 feet of the alley in Block 1, Alba Park Addition of the City of Palo Alto, prepared October 5, 1948, by Fabian S. Miller, Street Superin- tendent and City Engineer of the City of Palo Alto. Section 5. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 8t* day of November, 1948, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. at the Council Chambers of the City Council of said city, in the City Hall, Palo Alto, California, be and the same is hereby set as the day, hour and place where and when any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement, may appear.• before said council and show cause why said proposed work should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. Section 6. The Daily Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City of Palo Alto, of general cir- culation, is nereby designated as the newspaper in which the City Clerk of the City of Palo Alto shall cause to be published in the manner and form required by law, a copy of this Resolut:lou of In- tention, by causing same to be published twice in said newspaper prior to the date of the hearing of objections to the proposed work and improvement. Section 7. The Superintendent of Streets of said city shall cause to be conspicuously posted on one side of the above mentioned alley, along the line of said contemplated w0]'k and im- provement, notices of the passage og this resolution of intention in the time, manner and form prescribed b;, law. 42 The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto, held on the llth day of Octc'ser, 1948, by the following vote: AYES: Bentrott, Bowden, Cashel, Freedman, Oaci;ar, Hill, Linder, Merner, Mitchell, Montrouil, Thoit3.
