tor allotment to provide tin&nc1al aseiatance to Local
Agencies defined the~•1n •• counties, citiea or cities and
· counties for the purpose of defraying not to exceed cne-halt
ot' the coat or acquiring rights or vay or eitea tor public
works projects determined to be deG1rable 1n post-var public
vorka programs or such Loeal Agenc1ee; and
WHER&AS, the City or Palo ~lto, hereinafter designated
aa 11Local Agency•, dea1rea to aubm1t 1ta requoet for State
aid in the acquisition or a right of' way under said Act; and
WHEREAS, the project 1n connection with which the r1gb.t-
of-vay has been acquired ia known ae the Embarcadero Annex
Storm Sewer Interceptor a.nd oxtenda from Embarcadero Road 1n
the Clty or Palo Alto 1n a general aoutbeaaterly direction to
the Seale-Wooster Canal and from Middlefield Road along th&
Seal~-Wooater Canal to the Bayahore H1gh.vay. Said right-of-way
is 60 feet wide a.n.d. has been &CQuired by Local Agency under an
order for posaeasion 1n a condemnation action 1n the Coun~y of
Santa Clara, State of Cal1!orn1a, entitled wcity of Palo Alto,
a municipal corporation vs M&ry E. Lynn, as Administratrix or
the Estate or w. D. Lynn, Deceased, et al" No. 61804; and
WHEREAS, a request to the Post War Public works Review
Board for such aid has been preps.red and. presented to this
Legislative Body for consideration; and
WHEREAS, in connection w1th said condemnation action Local
Agency has set aside suffic1~nt fwlds to pay all costs in con-
nection vith said acquisition;
NOW, THRREFORE, BE IT RESOLYIU» that Local Agency eUbmit
the aforesaid request for acqu1s1t1on a1d to the Post War
Public Works Review Board for the State's aha.re of the coet
or said acquisition in the sum of $7,0l5.43; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, tllat .Local Agency hereby cert1f1etl
that the total coat paid to date :or the acquisition of the
right-of-way for which it 1s requesting aid under said Act is $15,621.79; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Local Agency hereby requests
the State to pay the State•a eh.are of the total coat pa1d for
the acquisition which Local Agency ls requesting aid.
BE IT FURTPJ.ER RESOLVED that t'or the purposes of th.is re-
quest, J. B. Bloia, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, whose
address is City Hall, Pa.lo Alto, California, be ana he ia hereby
des1gnatsd and directed to sign the herein mentioned request 011
behalf or Local Agency and to submit same to the Poat War
Public Works Review Boar~, together vith a certified statement
or the total cost paid or to be paid for the acqu1a1t1on of tb.u
herein mentioned right-of-way or a1te,. and such other informa-
tion as may be required; a.nd said authorized agent is further
authorized and directed aa the representative or Local Agency
to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrangements,
1nclud:tng aubmisoion to the Director or Fina.nee Of a~plicat!O.WI
for payment, which may be necessary to secure ])&yment of the
5tate•s share or the cost of' the a.cqu1:s1t1on of the aforemen-
tioned right-of-way.
