I 0 • AMEHDI.NO RESOLUTI JN #1342 RELATIVE TO 'l'lm .U.JA)VA.~CE TO PALO AurO RESIDEitrS OF REDUCTION ON HOSPITAL BILLS. WEBREAS Resolution #1}42 ot the Cit7 of Palo Alto was paaaed on the ~th dar ot September, 19-1, granting to the residents or Palo Alto who have resided 1n said city tor more than 180 conaecutlve daya i.mm.ediately prior to their entry into the hospital, an allowance or $2.50 per day on their hospital bill, not exceedU1g tvent1-one days or such allowance during any tvelve month period; Vl:IE:Rl!'.AS it is the 1.ntent1on or the City Council to amend said reuoiution in respect to persona vho have entered the armed forces, or their families: NOW, THEREFORE., the C·.~uncil of the City or Palo Alto DO RESOLVE aa follows: That an allowance of $2.50 per day on hospital bills of all residenta of' the City of Palo Alto, be granted for a total of not to e~ceed twenty-one ds7s during any twelve month period; provided, however, that 1n the event the per diem eharge is less than $5.00 the allowance shall not e:xceed 50!' ot said ch.e.rge. "Reaidentw as referred to 1n this resolution ehall mean a person who ha~ resided withtn the city limits or the City of Palo Alto tor 180 consecutive days or more immediately preceding tlle1r entry into the hospital. Persona who have qualified tor hospital benefits un- der this resolution and who 1 after so qualit'y1ng, are required to move away from the city as a result or either the husband or the wife entering the armed forces_. may return to the City of Palo Alto during such time as such husband or vife 1s 1n the armed forces and receive the hospital allowances granted under thi:s resolution. Resolution #1}42 1s hereby repealed. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and re-gularly -passed by the Council ~r the City or Palo Alto at a regular meeting held on Monday, the 9th day or November, 1942, by the following vote: AYES: .
