WHEREAS, & p~t1t1on 1n writing hat been received by the Council of the City qt Palo Alto, being the leg1alat1ve body thereof, asking that the territory described therein be anne~ed to the City of Palo Alto; and, WHEREAS, it appos~ from the certificate or the City Clerk attached to such petition that the aame ia signed by one- fourth and more 1n number of the qualified electors residing within the territory described th8re1n as shown by the registra- tion or voters 1n the Count~ of Santa Clara; and, WHEREAS, prior to tho circulation of the above mentioned petition the petitioners published a notice or intention to cir- culate said petition as prescribed by the Anne~ation Act of 1913 or the State of California; NOW~ THERErORE, The Council of the City or Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows: Section l.
