The COU11.c11 of the City ot' Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follo•,s: Section 1. That it is the 1~tent1on of the Council or the City or ?alolr.rto"to order the following work and improvement to be done in said city, to wit: (a) That the following portion of Acacia Avenue 1n the City of Palo Alto, between Sl Camino Real and First Street, de~cribed as follows, to wit: 01 r-= .... 0 :I BEGINNING at the point or intersection of the Norta- easterly line of El Camino Real, formerly Main Street, with the Northwesterly line of Acacia Avenue, formerly Forest Avenue, as said Mai• Street and Forest Avenue are shown upon that certain map entitled: "Map or Smlny!ide Addition to the Town or Mayfield,• which map was filed for record in the office of the Recorder of tlle CoWity or Santa Clara, State of California, on December 19 1 1905, in Book L of Maps, at page 12; running thence Northeasterly along said Northwesterly line of Acacia Avenue a distance or 478.50 feet to t~~~ portion of Acacia Avenue closed by Resolution No. 1370 of th~ City Council of the City of Palo Alto, dated April 13, 1942, and recorded in the office of the · Recorder of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, 1 on April ~~, 1942, in Volume 1090 of Official Record~~ -_ at page 266; thence at ri~:t angles in a Southeast- erly direction and pRrallel to the Northeasterly line of El Camino Real a distance of 10.00 feet; thence at right angles in a Southwesterly direction and parallel to the Northwesterly line of Acacia Avenue a distance of 478.50 feet to a point on the Northeasterly line or El Camino Real; thence at right angles in a Northwest- erly direction along the Northeasterly line of El Camino Real a distance of 10.00 feet to the point of beginning; be clo3ed a.n.d abandoned. Section 2. That .tn the opinion "f said Council no asse~ement ra-necesse.ry for said proceeding. Section 3. 'l'hat said "Work and improvement is to be had and taken pursuant to the prov1s1o~ of Article ? of Ordinance 722 of the City or. Palo Alto commonly kno"Wn and desi~'ted as the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, said ordinance ha:1.ng been adopted by the Council or the City of Palo Alto on Septe~~er 13, 1937. Section 4. For a. more particular description of t~e work to be aone nereunder reference 1s hereby made to that certstn map or plat on file with the Superintendent or Streets or the C1\y of Palo Alto and entjtled "Plan for closing a portion of Acacia Avenue" prepared and approved by L. August, 1942, at the hour or 7:30 P.M. at the Council Cbambera ot the City Council of aaid city, in the City Hall, Palo Alto, California, be and tlle same j.a hereby eet as the day, hour and place where and when ~~1 ar~ all persons hav- illt,~ any objections to t.h.e propo5ed work or improvement, .may appear before aaid Council and show cauee why 8&1d propo8ed work ahould not be carried out in accordance with th1a resolution. Section 6. The Palo Alto Tixnea a daily newa_paper pub- lished afla c1rculated in the City of Paio Alto, of general c1r- cule.tj.on, 1s hei•eby designated as the newspaper in llhich the City Clerk or the City ot Palo Alto shall cause to be published 1n the manner and form required by law, a copy of this Resolution or Intentlon, by cau:sJ.ng same to be published twice in said news- paper prior to the date o.f the hearJ.ng of objections t.o the proposed work and improvement. Section '7. The Superintendent of' Streets of said City shall cause tcr1Se conspicuously posted on one side of each street between each two intersecting streets, along the line of so.ld contemplated work and improvement, notices or the I&ssage or this resolution of intention in the time, manner and form prescribed by law. The above ana foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and pas5ed at a regular meeting or the Council or the City of ?.alo Alto, held on the 13th day or July, 1942, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: Bentrot t, Blois.
