Hamilton Avenue to Forest Avenue under the heading or Project #12; and VHERB.AS, aaid work has co•e:o.ced; and WHEREAS, 1n ea1d a~eement under the he&dtng or Project #13 the v1den1ng and paving ot Lyttan Avenue from Alma Street to Emerson Street ia eet torth; and WHEREAS, the Council believe3 that the widening and sur- racing ot Emerson Street betveen Hamilton Avenue and Forest Avenue should be deleted from Projec·t #12 and that there ahould be aubat1tuted 1n ita place the widening and paving of Lytton Avenue from Ala Street to Emerton S·treet tor the tolloving rea- sons, to wit; (a) The tratt1o on Lytton Avenue :rrom Alma Street to Emerson Street haa been greatly congested reault~g from the es tabliahment of the parld..ng areas around the new Southern Pao1tio Station and the new Greyhound Bus Terminal; (b) Leas critical materials vill be ueed on the widening and paving ot LJtton Avenue from Alma Street to !lleraon Street than 1n th•' widening and surfacing of Bmeraon Street between Hamilton Avenue and Poreat Avenue; ( o) IQtton Avenue from J\llla Street 1a badly 1n need ot repair and should be videned to take care ot the traffic referred to 1n (41.} above; and., WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said change 1n said agree- ment and secure the necessary permianion trom the War PrOduction Board Ott1ce ot Production Management, Division ot.Induatry Oper- ations, it 1a necessary to have an application tor a project rating approved by said Board and the Federal Rousing Administration; NOW. THEREPORE.. the Council ot the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE &s .tollova: That L. Harold Anderson, the Clty Engineer, be &nd he 1s hereb7 authorized to execute and present an application for a Pr)- ject rating to the War Prcduction Board, Otfice ot Production Management, Division ot Induatr7 Operations and to negotiate vith said Board an6 the Pederal Housing Admin1etration and the Division or Highways of the State or C&litornta.. to eeaure the approval or all or said parties tor the aubat1tut1on above referred to, and to secure the approval by the Var Production Board of said application tor a project rating.
