WHEREAS, the City Council ot the City ot Pdlo Alto baa by resolution approved the !hird Supplemental KemoraDdum ot
Agreeaent tor bpeoo1ture ot One-Quarter Cent Oe.a Tu tor Streeto ot Major Importance; and,

improvement undftr Project #12, to w1tz the improvement of the
block on Emerson Street between Hamilton Avenue and Forest
Avenue and to substitute therefor in aa1d Project #12 the v1den-1n& and paving o~ Lftton Avenue trom Alma Street to Emerson Street tor the following reaaona:
(a) The traffic on LJtton Avenue trom Alma Street
to Emerson Street has been greatl7 congested reeulttng
from the establishment or the P&rktna areas around the
new Southern Pacific Station and tha new Greyhound Bua
terminal;
(b) Less critical mater1ala will be uaed on the
widening and paving of Lytton Street from Alma Street
to Emerson Street than 1n the widening and surfacing
ot Emerson Street between Hamilton Avenue and Forest Avenue;
( o) Lytton Avenue from Alma Street 1a badly 1n
need ot repair and should be widened to take care ot
the traffic referred to L~ (a} above.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council ot the City of Palo Alto DO RFSOLVE as rollowss
That the D1v1eion or Highwa1a be and it is hereby re-
questetd to amend the Third Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement
tor Expenditure of Or1e-Quarter Cent G&a Tax tor Streets ot Major
Importance by the deletion of the Widening and surfacing ot
Bmorson St1•eet between Hamilton Avenue and Forest Avenue l.lllder
the hek~1ng ot Project #12, and the substitution therefor in
said project or the widening and paving or Lytton Avenue from
Alma Street to Emerson Street.
T.he above ~~ foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and paaaed oy the City Council ot the C1ty or Palo
Alto at a apec1al meeting ot said Council held on the 27th day or
April, 1942, by the following vote:
