WHEREAS, the Council or the City or Palo Alto did on
the 9th day ot March, 1942, paae ita Resolution ot Intention
lfo. 1'66 to order tbe following work and improvement to be done
1n aaid city, to v1t:
1. That the tolloving portion ot Acacia Avenue
1n the City ot Palo Alto, aoutherlJ from Pirat
Street~ and more part1cularl7 described aa tollova,
.. to wit:
That portion ot Acacia Avenue, (tormerl7 known
as Forest Avenue), aa ahovn and delineated on that
certain Map entitled: ~Map No. 2 ot the Sunn:aide
Addi t1on, • recorded in Book L or Mapa, at page 12
on December 19, 1905, records ot Santa Clara County,
C&l1torn1a, and more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the point ot intersection ot
the southeasterly line or Acacia Avenue vith the
prolongation ot the southwesterly line or Firat
Street; thence trom said point or beginning south-
westerly along the said southeasterly line or
Acacia Avenue a d1at&nce of 87.15 teet; thence
at right angles northveste~ly ~tnntng parallel to
the southwesterly line ot P1rat Street a distance
of 60.00 feet to th~ northwesterly line or Acacia
Avenue; thence &t right angles northeasterly
along ea1d north•esterlr line or Acacia Avenue a
distance ot 87.15 teet to the southwesterly line ot Firat
Street; thence aoutheaaterlJ along said prolongation
of the southwesterly line ot Firat Street a distance
or 60~ 00 feet to the point ot beginning.:

2. That that portion or Firat Street between Olive
Avenue and the Southern Pac1t1c Right ot Way in the
City ot Palo Alto, and more particularly described
as tollovs, to wit:
All that portion or First Street extending from
the southeas~erly line or Oli.ve Avenue, (formerly
known as Palm Avenue), and lying between Blocks 3
and 5, as shown and delineated on that certain Map
entitled: wsunnys1de Addition• and recorded in Book
K or Maps at page 47 on Februe.ry 16, 1905, Records
ot Santa Clara County, California;
be cloaed and abandoned.
3. That that portion or Firat Street between
the Southern Pacific Right ot Vay and Portage
Avenue 1n t4e City or Palo Alto, more particularly
described as tollovs, to vit:
All ot that certain 17.45 reot reserve ex-
tending rrom the southeasterl7 line ot Acacia
Avenue, formerly "Forest Avenue• to the north-
westerly line or Portage Avenu& adjoining Block
15, as aho'lm and delineated on that certain Map
entitled: ~P No. 2 ot the Sunnyside Addition~.

IHBRIAS, the Superintendent of Streets did thereupon
cause notice ot the paaease or aaid Resolution ot Intention
to be posted 1n the f'Ol'll and manner required b7 law; and,

WHBRIAS, the Cit7 Clerk caused a atailar notice to be
published twice 1n t~e Palo Alto T~a, a dailJ nevapaper
published and circulated ~ the C1t7 ot Palo Alto, which neva-
paper vaa described 1n said Resolution or Intention Ko. 1366 by
the Council as the official newspaper in vhioh aaid notice should b& published; and,
WHIRIAS, no objection• have been tiled asatnat B&id pro-
posed work and improvement and more than ten (10) daye have
•lapeed after the oxp1r~t1on of the publication ot said notice
ot the paaaage or said Resolution ot Intent!~, and the Cit7
Council has acquired jur1ad1ot1on to order said work &.n.d iJa .. provement as proposed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council or the City or Palo Alto DO RF~OLVE as tollovs:
That the portions ot Firat Street and Acacia Avenue, 1n
the City or Palo Alto~ hereinabove d41cr1bed, be and the e&me are hereby clo~ed and vacated.
The above and foregoing resolution vas dul7 and
regula~ly introduced and passed at a reg\uar meeting or the
Council ot the City or Palo Alto, held on the 13th day or
April, 19421 by the following vote:

Bentrott, Blois, Cypher, .Hoy, Morten, Reed,
Southvood, Thoits.
None.
ABSENT: Cashel, Merner, Mitchell, Re.dtordi Richards, Thomaa, Wood.
