WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has (
adopted a Resolution of Intention to approvo a oo.ntraet pro-· ·
v1d1ng ror participation in the State Employees' Retirement 578-
tem; antl1
WHEREAS, it is provided 1n the State Emplo7eest
Retirement Act that prior to the execution of such a cont~act
the same must be approv~~ by the employees of any political
subdivision joining the State Employees• Retirement System;
NOW, THEREFORE. the Council of the City of Palo Alto Bo RESOLVE as follows:
That an election be and the same is hereby called ror
Wednesday, February 11, 1942, to be held as follows: Prom
7:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. the polls ror ea1d election shall be
located at the Corpor&tion Yard in the City or Palo Alto, and
rrom 10:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. in the Council Room of the City
Hall or said city. That all employees avail11ble on said day
shall be permitted to vote at said election.
The proposition to be voted upon is whether or not
the City of Palo Alto shall e~ecute a contract providing for
the part1.cipation by all or the employee~ or said city 1n the
Stete Employeeet Retirement System.
The Election Board ror the purpose or carrying on
said election shall consist or rour members. namely; Thelo
Perrott, Virginia Tronelin, Herbert Nelson and Alvina Larsen.
That arter the close of the polls tho Board shall canvass the
ballot and make a return or the results to the City Clerk.
The ballots to be used shall be those rurnj,shed by the Board
of Administration or the State Employees' Retirement Act.
The City Clerk ie hereby directed to post a notice
setting forth the time and place of this election on the Bulletin
Board 1n the City Hall and e.t such other places th.roughout the
city as in her discretion are necessary to give notice to the
employees or the city.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and re-
gularly introduced and passed by the City Council of the City
or Palo Alto at a ~agular meeting or said Council held on the
9th d&7 of February, 1942.
