FOR THE PARTIAL CLOSING OF NEVADA AVENUE BE'.l'WEN
HIOH STREET AND EMERSON' S'l'RXE'l' IN THE CITY OP PALO
ALTO •
The Council of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE e.a follows:
That it is the 1ntant1on or said Council to order the
following vork anc'l. 1mproveme.nt to be dcne in the City or Palo
Alto, to-wit:
That Nevada Avenue b&tween High Street and Emerson
3treet be narrowed rro~ 60 feet to 50 feet by closing and
abe.rtdoni.ng 10 feet on the nox•thwesterly side of Nevada A venue
between· High Street and Emerson Street •
Ths.'t there will bo no e.ss6ssments levied or collected
1n coP~ection vith eaid work~ nor vill there by any charg~s
aga1nst any property owners for se.id vork and improvement. All
of the herein proposed work shall be done pursuant to the provi-
sions of Article 2 of Ordinance 722 of the City of Palo Alto,
commonly known. and designated as the Palo Alto Improve~nt
Procedure Code, adopted by the Council of the City or Palo Alto
on September 13, 1937 aa ·said o:rd1.nance 1s amended to date.
The lOth day of Novetnber, 1941, at tho hour of 7~30
P.M. in tho Council C·bB.mber of the City Council in the City
Hall, Palo Alto, Ca.lii'orniCt, is hereby set as the day, hour and
place when e.n~ vhere any and all p.er.aons hav1..'1g any objection.s

to the proposed work ~nd L~rovement may appear before said
City Council and sho~ cause why said proposed work and imp~ove
ment should not be carried out in accordance v1th this resolution.
The Daily Palo Alto Times, a daily nevapaper published
and circulated in the City or Palo Alto, or general circulation,
is hereby designated as the newspaper 1n which the City Clerk of
the City of Palo Alto shall cause to be published in the 1nanner
and form required by lav, a copy of this Resolution of Intention,
by c&using same to be published tvice 1n said newspaper prior
to the date or the hearing of obj~ct1ons to the proposed vork
o.nd. improvement.
The Superintendent of Streets or said City shall caus~
to be conspicuously posted on one side of each street between each
two intersecting streets, along the line of said contemplated vork
and improvement, notices of the passage or tr.is resolution or in-
tention 1n the time, manner and rorm prescribed by law.
The above e.."'ld tol"'eg,)ing resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and passed at an adjourned regular meeting
or the Cou11cil or the City of Palo Alto held on the .lOth day ot
October, 1941, by the following vote:
