RELATIVE TO 'l'HE ALLOWANCE TO PALO ALTO
RESIDENTS OP REDUCTION ON HOSPITAL BILLS

~s, on May 15, 1935, the Council or the Cit} or
Palo Alto adopted the report ot the Speo1al Council Coma1ttee on
Hos;p1t&l1zat1on, which va1 dated April 81 1935, and ae a result
Of Which there hal been An allowance Of t2.50 per d&7 on the
hoap1t&l bill or all persona who have resided 1n the City ot
Palo Alto for a period 1n e~cees of six months immediately prior
to th61r entry into the hosp1tali and
'W'HERI!!AS, in said report 1 t Pl'ovided that said allowance should be applied to all per <51ern chargee except thote vhioh were in e~cees of $8.00 per dny; and
'WHEREAS,~~ the Hoapital1~S.t1on Committee has recor:smendec
to the Cit,-Council that the allowance or $2.50 per day ae prov1c•':l<l
1n said report be granted on all per diem charges reg&rdl~ss of
thQ tact that the same may be 1n exoes~ or $8.00 per d&JJ
NOW~ THEREFORE,~~ the Council or the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE a~ follows:
That &.ll allowance or $,2 .so per day on hospital billa or
all retl1dent.s or the City of Palo Alto be granted tor a. total
or not to exceed 21 days during any twelve month period; pro-
v1d6d however, that 1n the event the per ~iem charge 1a lesa
than $s.oo per day the allovance shall not exceed 5~ ot said charge.
"R~~eident 11 ae referred to in this resolution shall mean
a person who has resided v1th1n t~e city limits of the City or
Palo Alto for 180 conaeout1ve d&ys, or more, :tmmedi&tely pre-
ceding their entry into the hosPital.
The above and foregoing :resolution vas duly and r.eg,.llar·ly
1ntroduced.and p&seed by the Council or the Cit:y of Palo Alt.o
