RESOLUTION ---....... ----~--w o.-1290 -RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE JURISDICTION OF KIDDLiFIELD ROAD Dti"RING IXPROVEMEITS.
WHEREAS, Santa Clara County contemplates improving a
portion ot Middlefield Road outside the City Limite and alao
within tho City Limits or the City ot Palo Alto, with County :funds ; and.
WHERKA.s, the Board ot Superv18ora ot aaid County ha.11 re~uested that jurisdiction over that portion ot Kiddlet1eld
Road between the prolongatico o.r the Southeasterly property
line ot the David Starr Jordan Junior High School at Middle-
field Road and the Southe•sterly line ot Oregon Avenue at
Middlefield Road~ be released to the County of Senta Cla~
during the constru.et1cn ot certain road:wq improvement• on Middlefield Road;
NOW, THEREF'ORE, the Council ot the C1 ty ot Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as .followaa
That the Board of Public Works be and it ia hereby
authcrized to enter into an agreement with the Board of Su~r
vieora of the County of' Santa Clara, whereby the jurisdiction
over tt~t portion of M1ddlet1eld Road between the prolongation
of the South$aaterly property line ot the David Starr Jordan
Junior Hig.b. School at Middlefj.eld Road &n4 tho Southeaeterly
l1ne of Oregon Avenue be turned over and released to the County
of Santa Clara for the period ot time neoeseary to complete
the construction of certain street improvements in that por-
tion of Middlefield RoadJ aaid release to be given with the
understanding that upon completion ot the 1mprovementa, the
jur1ad1otian over said portion ot Middlefield Road will be returned to the City of Palo Alto.
BE IT FURT.HBR R&~OLVBD that upon the completion of eaid
1mprovfmi.enta, the City of Palo J:lto will take over and maintain
the same as a regulB.r city street thereafter.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and paaaed by tM C1 ty Council ot the C1 ty ot Palo Alto
at a regular meeting of the Council ot the C1ty ot Palo Alto held
on the 12th day of August, 1940, by the folloWing votet
