CI'.l'Y OF PALO ALTO WHE~~. the Council of the City of Palo Alto did on the 13th day of May, 1940, pass its Reaolution of Intention No. 1286 to order U1e tollowing work and improvement to be done in aaid city, to-wita 1. That the portion of Rose Avenue between Lambert Avenue and Third Street 1n tho City of Palo Alto be closed and abandoned. 2. That the portion of Portage Avenue between First Street and Third Street, in the City of Palo Alto be closed and abandoned. 3. That the portion of Second Street between Lambert Avenue and Portage Avenue in the City of Palo Alto be closed and abandoned; and WHERF~S, the Superintendent of Streets did thereupon cause notice or the passage of a1.1id Resolution of Intention to i:1e posted in the form and ;•:.anner required by law; and. WHEREAS, the City CJ~rk caused a similar notice to be published twice in the Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper publiehed and circulated in the City of Palo Alto, w~ch news- paper was described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1286 by tho Council na the official newspaper in which said notice shculd be published; ana WHEREAS, no objections have been filed against said proposed work and improvement and more than ten {10) d&ya have elapsed after the expiration of the p\.\blioation of said notice of the passage of said resolution of Intention, and the City Council has acquired jurisdiction to order said work and 1mprov~ment as proposed; NOW, THEREFORE, The Council of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as followss That tho portions of Rose Av~nuo, Portage Avenue and Second Street, in the City of Palo Alto~ hereinafter described, be and the same '-"re hereby cloeed and vacated.
