RESOLUTION OF IN1~TION NO. 1386 ......._... '
FOR THE CLOSING OF' .PORTIONS OF ROSE A VENUE PORTAGK
AVENUE AND SRCOND STREET IN Tlm CITY OF PALO ALTO
The Council ot the City ot Palo Alto DO RESOLVI aa tollowaa
That it is the intention of the Council ot the City or Palo Alto to order the following work and tmprovement to be done 1n said oity, to-wit: ·
Section l. (l) That that portion ot Roae Avenue
between Lambert Avenue and Third Stree~ in
the City ot Palo Alto, be cloaed and abandone~.
( 2) That tbat portion ot Portage Avenue
between Firat Street and Third Street 1n the
City of Palo Alto, be cloaed and abandonad.
(3) That that portion of Second Street
between Lambert Avenue and Portage Avenue in
the City of Palo Alto, be oloaed and abandoned.
Section 2. That 1n the opinion ot aa.id Council no
ass~ssment ia neceesary !or this proceeding •
Section 3. Said work and improvement ia to be ba•1
and taken pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of Qrdin&n•3e
722 or the City of Palo Alto commonly known and designated aa
the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, aaid ordinance having
been adopted by the Council of the City or Palo Alto on September 13, 1937.
Section 4. For a particular description or the work
to be done hereunder reference 1a hereby m-..de to that certain map
or plat on file with the Superintendent of Streets of the City
ot ~alo Alto and entitled "Plan or the cloa1ng of Portage Avenue,
second Street and :R .. oee Avenue" prepared April, 1940, by J. F ..
dyx'bee, Street Superintendent.
Section 5. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the
8th day o! July, 1940, at the ho\U" of 'l'I.Jil P.M. at the Council Ch~bere or the City Council o! aaid City, 1n the City Hall,

be·publiahed in the manner and tor.M required by law, a copy or this Reaolut1on of Intention, 'by causing to be published
twice in aa1d newapaper prior to the date ~r the hearing of
objections to the proposed work and improvement•

the passage ot this resolution of intention in the time, manner
and rorm prescribed by law.
The above and foregoing resolution waa duly and
regularly introduced and passed at a regular meeting ot the
Council ot the City of. P~.o Alto, held an the lOth day ot
