WHEhEAS, the canvas$ of returns of the votes cast at
the ~pec1al annexation ~leetion held on Maron 14, 1939, 1n certain
outside territory particularly des~ribe~ in Ordinance Mo4 772 and
in the notice of aaid election e.nd de81gnated 1n ae1d ordinance and
notice ae "Green Gabl~s", having b~en completed by the ·council;
NOW, THEHEFOT"J!:, the Council of the C1 ty or Palo Alto
DO h~SOLV~ as follows:
That the whole number of votes cast at 8aid annexation
election 1n the O\lte1de territory pro-poeeo to be annexed to the
city, and designated as "Green Gablee•, the total number of votee
cnet therein in favor of Qnnexation, and the total number o! votee
cast therein against Knnexat1on, upJn the propoe1t1on, ~o-w1ta
Shall Green Gables be annexed to the City or Palo Alto,
and the property theretn be, after auch annexation, subject to
taxation equally with the property in 5aid City of Felo Alto, to
pay certain bonde~ indebtedness of ea.id City of Palo Alto, out~
~tanding at t.."'le date of the filing of the peti t1on for the !lolding
of euch election, or theretofore nuthr>rized for the acquisi tton,
conatructior~, or completion of certain municipal improvements, more
particul~rly set forth in the aforesaid ordinance, anrl not1ee of
election and on the ballots used ot said election, are aB follows:

on file nt the City Ball in tho City of Palo Alto, which map show8
the exterior boundaries.or sn!d territory.
The City Clerk of the City of Pnlo Alto is hereby
directed to cause A report of ~he canvt\s:B of returns of said elec-
tion by th1a City Council to be entered at large upon the m1nutea
of the Council ~eeting of this date, showing the whole number o!
vote:s cast, the numbe:P east. i.n favor or said annexation ana the
number cast against se1d annexation.
