RESOLUTION OF' INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION TO SUBMIT THE
QUESTION OF THE AMNEXATIOI OF G~ GABLES ~0 THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, a petition 1n writing hae been received by the
Council of the City of P~o Alto. being the leg1alat1Y~ body there-
of, asking that the territory described therein be annexed to the City ot Palo AltoJ and.
WHERF~S, it appearz !rom the certificate o~ tbe City Clerk attached to suCh petition that the aame ia aigned by one-
fourth and more 1n number ot the qualified electore residing
within tne territory deecribed therein aa ahown by the regietration of the vot~ra or the County of Santa ClaraJ

Section 1. That 1t is hereby found and determined that aa1d petition aiifng that the territor, hereinafter dftecribed be
annexed to the City of Palo Alto 1a signed by one-fourth and more

See. 4. That it 1e the intention of the Council of the
C1ty ot Palo ATto to call a apeolal election and submit to the
eleetore residing in the terri tory proposed by aueh petition to be
annexed to the City of Palo Alto the question whether :such terri-
tory shall be annexed to, incorporated 1n and made a part of the
City of Palo Alto, on Tuesday, the 14th day of March, 1939.
Sec. 5. Notice is hereby given that any person owning
real property within such territory 80 propoeed to be annexed and
having &ny objection to the propo8ed annexation, may at any time
not later than the hour herein set for the hearing make written p~otest against the proposed election and may appear before the
City Council of the City ot Palo Alto in the. Council Chamber in
the City Hall. r:>f said city on February 1~, 1939, at 7s30 P.M. end
show cause why such territory should not be eo annexed.
Sec •. 6. That the proceedings for eaid annexation shall
be had an'QC'onaucted ~ureuant to tl.'le provisions or an act of the
Legislature entitled An act to provide for the alteration of the
boundaries of and for the annexation or territory to municipal
