RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto that the
City Engineer be and he 1a hereby instructed to prepare plans
and spec1f1cat1ons for the following work and improvements, to-wits

Section 1. That Emerson Street, from University Avenue to
Addison Avenue, and t'rom Lytton AYenue to Hawthorne A:Yenue, and
Brysnt Street, from !mbareadero Road to University Avenue, be 1m-proved aa followas, to-v1t:
(a) :9y re:rnovj.ng the oxisting curbs snd gutters, by
grading, and by the ccnst.ru.etion of cement concrete sidewalke
and integral cur be and gut ter•e, together with dr1 vewtty aprons J
(b) By resurfs.c1ng the existing roAdw~tya with an
asphaltic concrete wearing surface laid on the ex1at1ng pavement,
and by the conetruotton therein of cement conoretw pavement;
(c) By removing the existing electroliera and elec-
trical condu1te and replacing them in new locat1one, and bJ the
1natallat1on of Westinghouae Sheridan No. l~ Type hollow upun
granite 11ght1.ng standards with extended baees, equipped. with
small Washington type lighting unite and bronze tol1um casings,
and eleotrolier Novalux type units wnd 250 C.P. 6.6 xazda

and integral curbs and gutters, together ~ith driveway aprone;
(b) By the construction tnerein of an oil atab111zea rock base pavement, tog~ther with a combination asphaltic wear-ing surface.

therein shown on the plans herein, be improved aa followaa
{a) By the installation o! wye branches snd vitri-fied olay pipe sanitary sewer laterals;
(b) By tho installation of one inch copper pipe ~ater laterals, equipped with one inch corporation cooks with ooppe~ couplings, one inch curb cocks, and oaa·t iron servioe boxaa;
(e) By the 1natallat1on therein ot three-fourths
