of the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara, State of Califo~
n1a, by ordinance ch1ly and regularly passed and published, Oid
call sttid 8pecie.l election to be held in said city on the 15th
day of February, l93e., for the p1.1rpose of subrr.1.tting to the
qualified voters of said clty the prorositions "Shall the City
of Palo Alto ir.eu:r a bonded indebtedness in the principal
'amount of $175,000 for ~~e object and purpose of acquiring,
com1tructing and comple-t1.J'lJ:; the follow:tng nrun1c1:oal 1mprovemert ,
to wits the enla.:re:ement and betterment of the Palo Alto :!oapital,
1.nc.lud1ng the construction of an addition or aoo:t t1one thereto?"; and
WHEREAS, due and les:-:al notice of said s")ectal el'ect1tm

and said nolls were cont!nuously kept open for said purpose from
the time th~:r were so opened until seven o'clock 1n the ,afternoon
o.f said drly, and du.I·ing said hou.rs of said 15th dn.y of February,
1938, R special ~lect,1on was held 1n said CAty of Palo Alto on
said proros1t.1on and 1.n accordance wtth satd ord'l.nance; and

by law appointed for that purpose, aro the result of s~1j.d election
was thereafter made snd delivered to the Council of said city as by lnw and by ordlnance requtred; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, to-.. ·it: on the 1'7th OR'; of Febru-
ary, lQ38, at tbe hour of '7:30 o!cloek P.~.; the sAid Council

be 1aaued tor aaid propos1t1c:n, ,being for the enlargement
and betterment ot the Palo Alto Hoe pi te.l, inelud1ng the
construction of an addition or -~~1t1one thereto.
The above and foregoing resolut4on wae duly and
repularly introduced and paaaed at an adjourned regular
meetinp: of the Councn ot the City o:f Pnlo Alto held on
