RESOI.UTION RELA.TIYG TO CITY EMPLOYMENT
The Council or the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows:
That this Council favors the employment by the City
of Palo Alto of residents of this City. Who are competent to
carry on the duties of the ottioe or position to which they
may be assigned, giving prererence to those who are the head~
of families, whose husband or wife as the caae may be, i~
not already steadily employed, and who are not in possession
of a permanent and adequate income; provided, that this policy
be not applied so as to impair the efficiency ot any department.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly passed
by the Council of the City of Palo Alto at a regular meeting
held on the 8th day of June, 1936, by the following vote:

Blois, Bonham, Cathcart, Collins, Costello, Goddard,
Judson, Mitchell, Richards, Salsman, Stephens, Thomas, Wood.
None.
