The City Clerk is hereby instructed to
post a notice or a.aid work, together with the plana
and apeo1ticat1ons theretcr, and the prevailing
rate per diem tor wageo adopted tor this wnrk b7 r~aolut1on or the City Council on September 14, 1931,
eonsp1cuo~sly tor five daya on or near the cham'ber
door ot said Oouno11, inviting sealed proposals or
bids tor <bing tba work. Said Clerk is also
directed to publish twice a notice inviting such
proposals and referring to the plans and specif1oa-
t1ona. posted or on tile, and also referring to the
prevailing wage scale and that the employment of
aliens j,s prohibited by Chapter 39S or the Statutes
of 1931, in the Palo Alto Daily Times, a daily
n~wspa.per published and circulated. in said City
and hereb7 designated tor that purpose~
All proposals or bids shall be aocompo.nied
by s. check payable to th~. City of Palo Alto certified
by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not
be loss than ten per cent of the aggregate of' the
proposal, or by a bond f'or the said amount o.nd so
payable , signed by the bidder and two sureties, Who
shall justify, before any otriaer competent to
administer ·an oath, in double the amount and over and above all statutory exemptions.
