ADDITIONS, BETTERMENTS .AMD RDtODELING OF THE PRESENT
CITY HALL BUILDING, TOGETH!m W'ITH .Alf ADDITION
THERETO, TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE CITY HALL ANNEX;
(2) THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WW PI.REHOUSE, RECON-
STRUCTION OP PRESENT FIR!HOUSES, AID THE IMSTALLA-
TION OF A MODERN FIRE ALARM SYSTEM; DETERMINIXG -
THAT THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION
OP SAID MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS AND EACH OF THEM,
IS NEC:ES8ARY AMI> CONVBMIENT TO CARRY OUT THE
OBJECTS, PURPOSES AHD POWERS OF SAID CITY, AND
DETERMINING THAT THE COST OF THE ACQUISITION,
CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF SAID MUNICIPAL
IMPROVEMENTS AND EACll OF TH..l?.M IS AllD WILL BE TOO
GREAT TO BE PAID OUT OF THE ORDINARY ANNUAL INCOME
OF SAID CITY.
The Council of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and necessity demand
the acquisition, construction and com.pletion by the City of Palo
Alto of the following municipal 1mprcivP.mentsJt and each or them,
to wit:
#1. Improvements to the City Hall, including additions,
betterments and remodeling or the present City Hall
Building, together with an addition thereto, to be desig-
nated as the City Hall Annex, including furnishings, fix-
tures, equipment and othez• works, property or structures
necessary or convenient for City Hall purposes.
#2. The acquisition, construction, reconstruction and
completion of buildings to house the Fire Department of
the Clty of Palo Alto, the construction and reconstruction or a fire alarm system for said city and other works,
property or structures necessary to provide adequate fire
protection tor the C1ty of Palo Alto.
Section 2. That the acquisition, construct1on and comple-
tion of sa1d municipal improvements, and each of them, 1s
necessarJ and convenient to carry out the objects, purpose~ and
powers of said city.
Section 3. That the cost of the acquisition, construction
and completion of said municipal improvements, and each or them,
1s and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual
income and revenue of said city.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly introduced and
passed by the Council of the C1ty of Palo Alto at an adjourned
regular meeting held on Monday, the 24th day or November, 1947,
by the following vote:
