RESOLOTIOI CALLIXG ELECTIOJ
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has adopted
a Resolution ot Intention to approve .Aaendment to Contract pro-
viding for participation 1n the State Employees• Ret1reaent System;
and
WHEREAS, it 1a provided 1n the State X.ployees• Retirement
Act that prior to the execution or auch Allendaent to Contract the
same must be approved by the employees or said City ot Palo Alto
who are members of the State lmployees' Retirement System, ex-
cluding t1remen and policemen;
Now_ THEREFORE, the Council of the City ot Palo Alto DO
RESOLVE as follows:
That an election be and the same 1s hereby called tor
Monda1, the 24th day of November, 1947, to be held as follows:
From 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. the polls tor said election shall be
located at the Corporation Yard in the City or Palo Alto, from
10:30 A.M. to 12:00 o'clock noon in the Council Room or the City
Hall, from 1:00 to 2:00 l.'.M. at the Palo Alto Public Library~ from
2:30 to 3:30 P.M. at the C0111mun1ty Center, and from 4:00 P.M. to
5:00 P.M. in t.he Council Room at the City Hall.
All employees available on said day who are members or the
State Employees• Retirement Syatem, other than firemen and police-
men, shall be permitted to vote at sa1d election.
The propos1t1on to be voted upon 1s whether or not the City
of Palo Alto shall execute Amehdment to Contract providing for the
participation or employees of said city in the State Employees'
Retirement System.
The Election Board for the purpose or carrying on aaid
election shall consist of three members, namely: Elizabeth Perrot~,
Lucille Moore and Mercer Rentfrow. After the close or the polls
the Board shall canvaes the ballots and make a return of the results
to the City Clerk. The ballots to be uaed shall be those furnished
by the Board of Adm1n1strat1on of the State Employees' Retirement
System.
The City Clerk 1s hereby direct~d to post a notice setting
forth the time and place or this election on the bulletin board
1n the City Hall and at such other places throughout the City as
ln her discretion are necessary to give notice to the employees of
the City.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed by the Council or the City or Palo Alto at
a regular meeting of the Council held on the 10th day or November,
