"""""'-'"'" .~ .... -... .....,,'-0-o,,w.w.-,,-,_ '"-"!• 260 R E S 0 L U T I 0 N N 0. 1606 -------.... -- CALLING FOR SEA.LED PROPOSALS PROJECT NO. 47-1 LYT'l~ON AVENUE, ET AL ACQUISITION AlfD IMPROVEMENT RESOLVl"....D, by the C1ty Council of the Clty of Palo Alto, California, that WHE.~EAS, the City Council of the City of Palo Alto did on the 9th day of June, 1947, adopt lta Resolution of Intention to order work and confirm assessment, wherein 1t did order the work a.nd :!.mprovement to be done and an assessment and diagram to be con- firmed 1n accordance w1th a total and itemized estimate of the coots and ~xpensea thereof, all as more particularly described and set forth in 3a1d resolution. NOW, 'rHER.EFORE, the City Clerk of said C1ty is hereby directed ti.) publish in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general c1rculat1on, printed, published and circulated in said C1ty and hereby deBignated by sa1d Council for that purpose, a Notice In- viting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work and ma.king the improvementB described in said resolution of intention as proposed to be modified, and referring to the plana and specifications, on file in the office of the City Glerk. All propo5als or b1ds shall be accompanied by a check pay- able to the C1ty of Palo Alto, certified by a responsible bank, for an amount which shall not be less than ten per cent (10%) o:f the ag- gregate of the proposal, or by a bond for said amount and so payable, s1F.;ned by 1;he bidder and two sureties, who shall justify before any officer competent to adm1.n1ater oaths, in double the said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said sealed proposals shall be delivered to the Clerk of said C1ty Colmc1J., to-wit: the City Clerk, on or before 3:00 P. M. of Monday .. the 13th day of October, 1947, said t1rr.e being not less than ten days from the tim~ of the first publication of said notice. bids will be opened, examined and declared on said day and hour by the Bo11rd of Public Works of said Clty in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, who shall report to the City Council :Hs findings, which findings shall be considered by 3a1d Council at it~ meeting to be held at said place on Monday, October' 13, 1947, at 7:30 0 1 clock P.M. * * * * I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of' reso- lution adopted by the C:t ty Council of the City of Palo Al to, California, at a regular meeting thereof :held on the 8th day of September, 1947, by the following vote of tne members thereof: AYES, and 1n favor thereof, Councilmen: Bentrott, Blois, Bolander, Bowden, Freedman, Gaspar, Linder, Merner, Tho1ts.
