RESOLUTION TO CLOSE PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK I
OF ALBA PARK ADDITION Ilf THE CITY OP PALO ALTO
The Council of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows:
That 1t is the intention of th~ Council of the City of
Palo Alto to or~er the following work and improvement to be done
in said c1ty1 to-wit:
Sect1on l. That that portion or the alley in Block 1
or Alba Park Addition of the City or Palo Alto more particularly
des~ribed as follows:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the
Northerly 11ne of Parkinson Avenue with the Easterly
boundary line of Lot 1 in Block l of Alba Park Addition
as said lines, Avenue, Lot and Block are shown upon a
map ot said Addition, recorded December 18, 1905
at page 8 1n BoQk "L", Records of Santa Clara County,
California; thence 160.00 reet Northerly along said
boundary line and its prolongation as the Easterly
boundary line or Lots 2, 3, and a portion of Lot 4 to
the Southerly limit line of that portion of a former
alley closed by resolution or the City Council of the
City of Palo Alto, California, dated March 10, 1930,
which limit line is the Westerly prolongation of the
Southerly boundary line or Lot 7 of said Block l;
thence Easterly along sa.1.d 11m1 t line 13. 00 feet to
the Westerly boundary line of said Lot 7; thence
Southerly along the prolongation of the Westerly
boundary line of Lot 7, 13 .00 .reet to the Northerly
boundary line of Lot 12 1n said Block 1; thence
Southerly along the Westerly boundary line of aa1d

son Avenue; thence Westerly along said Northerly line

commencement, the same being a strip or land uniformly
13 feet wide by 160 feet long, containing an area of

Southerly end of·an alley formerly running from
Parkinson Avenue Nor:herly through. said Block l to
Harker Avenue, all as shown upon City of Palo Alto
drawing No. lC,603 &s revised March 20, 1947, which
drawing is attached hereto and hereby made a pa~t of
this description.
Reaerv1n~ to the City of Palo Alto an easement
for .underground and overhead installation of electric,
water, gas and sewer ut111t1ea in the following de-

Avenue at a point distant thereon 1.50 feet Easterly

be closed and abandoned.

Section 2. That in the opinion of said Council no assess-
ment 1s necessary for this proceeding.
Section 3. Said work and improvement is to be had and
taken pursuant to the provisions of Article 3 of Ordinance
844 of the City of Palo Al to, commonly known ana des1e-,.nated
as the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, said ordinance
having been adopted by the Council ot the City of Palo Alto on
January 13, 1941.
Section 4. For a particular description of the work to
be done hereunder refer6nce is hereby made to that certain map
or plat on file with the Superintendent of Streets of the C1ty
or Palo Alto and entitled "Proposed Alley Closing in Block 1,
Alba Park Addition" prepared the 18th day of Marci'l, 1947, by
Fabian S. Miller, Street Superintend.ent.
Section 5. Notice is hereby given that Monday 1 the llt'i1
day or August, 194·r, at the hour of 7:30 p. rn. at the Council
Chambers of the City Council of said City, in the City Hall,
Palo Alto, California, be and the same is hereby set as the day,
hour and place where and when any and all persons having any
objections to the proposed work or improvement, may appear be-
fore said Council and. ehow cause why said proposed work should
not be carried out in accordance with this reaolut1on.
Section 6. The Daily Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper
published and circulated in the C:l.ty o1' Palo Alto, of general
circulation, 1a hereby designated. as the newspaper in which the
City Clerk of the City or Palo Alto shall cause to be published
in the manner and form required by law, a copy of this Resolution or Intention, by causing same to be published twice 1n said news-
paper prj.or to the date of the hearing or objections to the pro-
posed work and improvement.
Section 7. The Superintendent or Streets of the said
City of Palo Alto shall cause to be conspicuously posted on one
aide or the alley along the line or said contemplated work and im-
provement notices of the passage or this resolution and intention
in the time, manner and rorm prescribed by law.
