·;1r:EREAS I the State ot California, under Chapter 47. Statutes ot 1944 {4th Extra Se3s1on) hae appropriated :t'unda for allotment
by the Director of Finance to provide !'1nano1al aes11.1tano11 to
Looal Agenc1ee defined therein as oount1e8, o1t1ee or cities •r.d
counties for t:r.e purpose of defray1fl8 not to exceed 011e-hal.f the
cost of prepar1ns engineering f1eld eurveya, engineering or
arohitec:tural designs, .and work1nc and detailed drawings a.nd
apec1fioat1ons {hereinafter called "PlalUI•) required ror ioet-
war public works projects described as "epeoitic projects in maid Act; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto, hereinattar designated aa
"Looal Agency", de5irea to apply to tho Director of P1nanoe
and/or the Po.et War Public Wor·ks Review Board, as the oaae may
be, for an allotment of the State's share of the estimated coat
of preparing the completed plans her·einafter mentioned and there
hae been prepared ard presented to this Legislative Body for
consideration and appl1oat1on for such purpose; and1
WHEREAS, Local Agency. has provided, or will make available
upon approval 01' the aforementioned application, sufficient funds
to prepare the completed plans h~rein mentioned.
NOW, THEREFORE, TBE COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y OF PALO ALTO DO R~OlNE AS FOLLOWS i
That Looal Agency submit the aforesaid application to the
Director of Finance and/or the Post War Public Worka Review Board,
as.the case may be, requesting allotment ot Two Thousand Eibht
Hundred Twenty and 54/100 ($2,820.54) Dollars being not more than
one .. half the oos·t of preparing ea.id completed plans, or .fo1• such
a.mount as may be approved 'by the Director of !inanoe and/or the
Post War Public Works Review Board (said allotment to be u3ed
for the purpose of defray1nt:; tbe oost ot preparing said completed
plans re,.u1red), for a specific project to be undertaken by local
agency &nd described as Palo Alto Sewage Works -Enlargement a.nd Irnprovemente;
BE IT F'UHTHER RESOV!EI>, that the est1:mated cost of pre-~· paring such plane is Five ' '.Ihousand Six Hundred. Forty-One and 09/100
($c,641.0?) Dollars and that U:>oe.l Agency has made prov1s1on8 for
pay:1.nt; one-half or more or the cost of prepar1nc such ple.na;
m; IT FURTi:ER RESOINED 1 that for the purposes or th1.s
appl1cat1o:r., ,J. L. Blois, Mayor> Palo Alto, California, 'be and
he is hereby desisnated as the authorized agent of Loc~l At;enoy
and is hereby authorized and directed to sign the above-mentioned
application on behalf of the Local Agency and submit the same to
the Director of Finance and/or the Poat War Public Works Reviewr
Bos.rd, together with a certified statem.r;nt of the ~stilllllted cost
ot preparing such plans and such other information, aa mny be
required; end said authorized aeent is !'u.rther authorized and
directed as the repreeentat1ve or Local Agency, to conduct all
negatiat1ons and conclude all arrangements, 1nclud111f; submission
to the Director of Finance or applications for reimbursement,
which may be neceeaary to secure reimbursement for the State's
share of the expenditures m8 de in pr~parine said completed plans.
