AL RESOLVED, b1 the Council of the City or Palo Alto, California, that it does hereby preliminarily determin9 that the public convenience and nec:eea1ty reQu1re,, axld th.at it intends to order the following vork to be ~one and improve- ments to be .made 1n and for aaid Cit1, to-vit: 1. Th.at Melville Avenue between Chann.1.ng Avenue and the ond or the pavemen.t south of Fulton Street; Harriett Street· between Cha.nn1.ng Avenue and Park.1.nJJon Avenue; Wilson Street between Harker Avenue and Hopkine Avenue; Hutchinson Avenue between Channing Avenue and Barker Avenue; Pine Street between Harker Avenue and Hopk1ne Avenue; Hopkina Avenue between Harriett Street and Newell Road; Fire Avenue between Boyce Avenue and Lincoln Avenue; Boyce Avenue between Forest Avenue and Channing Avenue; Santa Rita Avenue between Cowper Street and Middlefield Road; Byron Street betveen Santa Rita Avenue and California Avenue; Middlefield Road between Cal1fo~n1a Avenue anc1 Oregon Avenue; and the southerly one-half or Middlefield Road between Seale Avenue and California Avenue; and Palo Alto Avenue betveen the aoutherl1 end and northerly end of Foe Street, including 1ntersect1ona, be improved by constructing therein grading, crusher-rw:i. base pavement and asphalt concrete wearing surface, Portland cement concrete curbs, gutters, side- walks and driveway aprons, and vork incidental thereto. 2. All or ea1d work and improvements are to be constructed at the places a.ru.'I in the part1cular locations, of the forms, s1zee, dimensions and materials, and to the lines, grades, and elevations aa shown and delineated upon the pls.ns, prot1lea, and spec1f1cat1ons prepared therefor, and on file 1n the office of the City Bng1neer 1n the City Hall or said City, reference to vhich is hereby made for full and detailed deecr1pt1on of said proposed work and for further particulars. 3. There is hereby excepted from the above work that which 1s already done to l1ne ar...1 grade, and marked •e~cepted• or shown "not to be done" on the plans, profilen and spec1f1ce.t1ons. 4. The Cit·y Ccunc:U does hereby adopt and eetabl1ah as the official grades for said work the grade& and elevations ehown upon said plans, profiles and specifications. All suoh grade8 and elevations are 1n feet and decimals thereof in reference to the official base and datum or said city. 5. All or said work shall be done undar the euperv1aion of the City ~1neer Of the City of Palo Alto, a.nCI all of sa1d work and materials shall be done and furnished to hie sa.t1efe.ct1on. 6. The properties so benefited, and the boundar1ee thereof, are more particularly shown on the map or aa1d aaaessment district on file in the office of the City Engineer ot aaid city, to which reference ie hereb7 made tor a more detailed deecript1on thereof. 7. That Rinconada Park, the Community Center, the Childrena • Li~ra . tho Childrena' Muaeum, the Municipal Power Plant, and other publicly ovned property 1n su aeaeaamen strict, shall be assessed ror its share of the coat ot said benefits, and the amount thereof paid in cash by the City. All public streets, alleya and ways 1n uae in the pertormance of the put>l1c function shall be omitted f'rom the assessment hereinafter to be made to cover the coat of aaid improvement. 8. Notice 1e hereby given that aerial bonds to represent the unpaid aaoeeaments and bear interest at the rate or not to e~ceed four per cent {~) per annum, will be issued pur- suant to Part 4, Bond Pla.u C ot Article IV or tho Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, the last installment of vb.ich shall mature nine (9) years from the second day or July next succee~1ng ten months from their date. 9. Except as herein othel"Vise provided for tbe issuance of bonde, all or the above proposed work shall be done in pur- suance or the provisions or Article V of said Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code. lo.
