1933, the Council of the City ot Palo Alto a~Tertised ror
bids on the work set forth 1n laJrove~nt Plans No. 4~,
which plana were tor the iaproTe .. nt and enlaraement of the
sanitary sewer outt;;l.l.l nystea of tbe City of Palo Alto; and
WBE~S, pursuant to said advertisement the Council
of the City or Palo Alto did on the 28th day of November,
1933, receive, open and publicly declare all bids received
for said work and on sajld date referred tbe saae to the
Board or Public Works oJ~ the City of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, said Bo.nrd or Public Works hr.s recoJIIIDeuded
to the City CounciJ. that all bids are excessive and that
the same should be reJe<Jtec';.; and
WHKREA.S.l the Citlr E&aineer bas subaitted an estiate
in the sum of •74,464.aa; and .
~RElS, said B~~rd of Public Works has recommended
to the City Council tba 1~ the work be done by the
Department of Public Wol~ks 'by Fo:rce Account;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED that this Council,
having duly considered t~id bids and the recommendations
of the Board of Public VJorks, does hereby approve the
recommendations of said Board or ~1blic Works and does
hereby reject all of thEt above mentionad bids received
for said work;
AND BE IT FURTH.I!.:lt RESOLVJ::D, that the £,apartment
of Public Works is hereby directed to do the work ~.J set
forth in laprovement P~LnS No. 47 by Force Account.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly passed
by the Council of the Ctty of Palo A.lto at an adJourned
regular meeting held on December·4, 1933, by the following
