The Council of the Gity or Palo Alto DO RESOLVE
as tollowa:
That it is the intention of this Council to
order the following public alle1 to be cloaed, to-wit:
BEGIN?UNG at a point at the intersection
ot the northeasterly line or .El Camino Real
with the northwesterly 11.ne ot &. public alle1
in Block 11 ot the Bartley Su'bd.1via1on of the
City of Palo Alto; thence from said point of
beginnins along said northweaten•l:r 11n.e ot
said alley and continuing along the northwesterly
line o! the alley in Block 10 in a northeasterly
direction a distance or 1260.80 feet to the
southwesterly line of Third Street; thence in
a aoutheasterly direction along said southwest-
erly line or Third Street at a distance of
15.56 teat to the so·11theaaterly line of said
public alloy; thence at right angles and in
a southwesterly direction along anid southeast-
erly line or said alley~ a d1at8Jloe or 1258.58
feet to the 3aid northeasterly line or Bl
Camino Real; thence at right angl'3s and •).ong
aaid northeasterly 11ns ot El Camino Real in
a northweaterly direction a distance of lS.5
feet to the point o! beginning, the same being
a strip of land or uniform width or 15.5 feet
running northeasterly and southwesterly through
the center of Blvck 10 and Block 11 for the
pu.rpoae or a public alleywa7, excepting there-
from the portion. of' said atri.p crossing the
50 root roadway or Orinda ~treot.
The Street Superintendent shall post notice of
public work in the manner and form as provided by the
stredt openi~g.act hereinafter referred to, and shall
also publiah a not1oe of said public work, for a
period ot ten da1a in the Daily Palo Alto Tim~s, a
daily newspaper publ1Ahed and circulated 1n the City
of Palo Alto, and which this C~cil hereby daeignates
aa the newspaper in wh1oh the Street Superintenc.ent' s
notices of the passage ot this resolution ah.all be
published.
All of the herein proposed work shall be donb
in purauance of an act of the legislature of the
~tate of California ent1 tltld, 1•.tn Act to Provide
for the L4y1ng Out, Opening, Extending, Widening,
Strqightening or Closing Up 1n Whole or in Part,
An1 Street, Square, Lane, Allay, Court, or Place
within Jlun1c1pal1 tiea and to Condetm•:and Acquire any
and all Land and Propert7 Necessary or Convenient for
that Purpose", approved Karch, 6, 1889, and ae~eral
acts uendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
