RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIOIS.
WHEREAS, J. F. Byxbee, a public ott1cer,
to-wit; the City Engineer ot the City of Palo
Alto, was, on the 2lat da.7 ot Karch, l92'7:r appointed
and directed to prepare and !'urn1sh apec1f1cat1ona
for oertain proposed acqu1a1t1ons necessary to
the widening or Jewell Road, • boundary road or
1treet between the City ot Palo Alto and the
County of Sant& Clara, ss hereinafter described,
under proceedings to be had and taken in the
matter of "Acquisition of Diatrict Number Five
ot the City of Palo Alto•; and
WHEREAS, the said J. F. Byxbee, City
Eng,.neer, on the 13th day or June, 1927, presented
said speoifioations to this City Council, and
this City Council .b.aa exe.1u1nod the aame and doexns
that the public interest and convenience require
the aoqula1t1ona therein provided for in tho manner
therein set forth; and
WHEru<;As, the oc~uia1tiona included in said
specU'ioat1ons incl12de the acqu1ai tiona !'or wid.en-
ing the following street, lying partly within and
partl7 without the City of Palo Alto in the County
of Santa Clara, to-wit: That Newell Read, a
boundary road er street between the said City
of Palo Alto and the said County of Santa Clara,
be widened to a uniform width ot 75 teot from
Embarcadero Road 1n said City, to a bend in said
Jawell Road, approximately 200 feet north of
Channing Avenue. and to a utdrorm width trom said
bend 1n :Newell Road to San Prancisquito Creek ot
60 feet; and such acqu1a1t1ona are neeessar7 and
proper to complete, connect wit.h and render o."

said County of Santa Clara, to-wit; the Board or

the ae1d Board ot supervisors has jurisd1ct1on,
which 1a included within the boundari~s or the
proposed aaaoaament d1atr1ct described in said
apec1!1cat1one end deemed by this leg1alat1vo body
to be benef1tted thereby:
