manner and torm, aa required 'by the Improvement Aot
ot 1911, as appeara from the aft1daY1t ot the
principal clerk ot the printer and publisher ot
tne Palo Alto Times, now.on tile in the otr1oe ot
the Clerk ot said City: and
WHEREAS, notioes of the paeaage or aaid
resolution or intention #523, headed •notice ot
Improvem&nt" were duly and legally pcated along
the line or said contemplated work and improvement,
and along each and everr open atreet and h1ghwa7 in
the aaeeaement d1etr1ct do1cr1b&d in •aid resolution
of intention at the t1m•1 in the manner and. form,
ar1d in numbers required. after the.passage or aaid
re•olu.t1on or intention, as appears from the
affidavit ot Fred Ingram who personallJ posted the
aame, and who, upon the completion ot the poating
ot said not1cee, forthwith tiled aaid aft1da9't in
the otfice or the City Clerk making oath that he
completed the posting er said notices on the 23rd
day of ilarch, 19~7; and
WHEREAS, there were no protests or obfections
presented to be disposed ot at the time and 1n tbs
manner and rorm as required by law:

This Council does hereby FURTHER RESOLVE that
the plans and specifications for cement concrete
sewor pipe be, and the sane are hereby expressly
adoptod for the above described work.
The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post a
notice of said work, together with the plans and
spec1f1cat1ons therefor, conspicuously for five days on
or near the Council Chamber door of said City inviting
sealed proposals fr bids for dolr1g the work ordered.
Said ClerY. is also directed to publish twice, a notice 1~v1ting such proposals and referring to tho spee1f1cat1ons
posted or on file, in the Pa lo Al to T1n1es, a. daily
newspaper published and circulated 1n said city and
hereby designated for tha:t purpose.
All proppsals or bids shall b~ accompanied
by a check payable to the City of Palo Alto, certified
by a responsible bank, for an amount which shall not be le~s than ten per c~nt of the aggregate of tho proposal,
or by a. bond for tho said amount a.nd so :)ayable, signed
by the bidder and two sureties, v;ho shall justify bofore
s.ny officer compat·~nt to .s.dmin1ster r...n oath, in doubb
