RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK:
WHEREAS, the Council ot the City or Palo Alto
did, on the 17th day or January, 1927 pass its
Resolution of Intention No. 515 to o~er the here-
inafter described work to be done a.nd improvement
to be made in said City, which Resolution of Intention
was duly and legally published in the time, manner
and form as required by the Improvement Act ot 1911,
as appears from the affidavit ot Veronica OJ.otson,
Principal Clerk of the printer and publisher or the
Daily Palo Alto Tin:ws, now on tile in t:be of.flee or
the Clerk of sa.1d City; and
WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention !lo. 515, headed '1Not1ee of
Improvement" were duly und legally posted along the
line of said contemplated work and improvement, and
on and along eaoh an<l every open street and highway
in the assessment district described in said Raaolution
of Intention, in time, form and manner, and 1n number
as required, after the passage of said Resolution of
Intention, a..s appears .from the a.ft1dav1ts ot c. L.
Blacker and Fred Ingramj who personally posted the
same, and who, upon tho completion of the posting of
said notices forthwith filed said affidavits in the
office of the City Clerk, making oath that they
completed the posting or said notices on the 24th day
of January 1 192?; and
WllEREkS, thero were no protests or objections
presented. to be disposed of in time, manner or form
as required by law:
Now, THEREFORE, this Council finds that thti
foregoing recital of facts 1s true, and that it has
acquired jur1ad1ot1on to order the work done, and the
Council of the City of Pa.lo Alto DO RESOLVE as
follows:
That the public interest and convenience
require the work herein described, and the Council
of the City of Palo Alto hereby orders the following
work to be done and improvement tc be made in said
C1ty, to-wit:

The City Clerk is hereb~ instructed to post
a notico of said work, together with the plans and
specifications there.for.! consp1cu<r1lsly tor f'ive days
on or near the Counc:!.l vha.mber doo~:-ot said City,
1nvit1.ng sealed proposals or bids for doing the work
ordered. Said clerk ts also directed to publish
twice. a notice 1nv1t1ng such proposals, and referring
to the spec1t1cat1ons posted or on file, in the Daily
Palo Alto TL."'!lea, a daily newspaper published and
circulated in sD.1.d e1 ty 9.nd hereby des1gn.ated for
that purpoB.e.
All pro:poaals or bids shall be accompanied.
by a. check payable to the City of Palo Alto,
cert:ti'ied by a responsible bank, for an amount
which shall not be less than ten per cent of the
aggregate o:t' the proposal, or by a bond for the
said amount and so payable, aignod by the bidder
a.nd two su~ot1as, who shall justify before any
offieer competent to adm::.nistar en oath, in double
said amount, and over and above all statutory
exemJtions.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be
delivered to the Clerk o.f the Council o'£ said C:tty,
on or before 8 o•clock P.M. on the 14th day of
March, 1927, said time being not less than ten days
from the time of the first posting and publication
of the notice of said work, and inviting sealed
propoeal3, on which day or hour all proposals or
bids eha.11 be publicl:• opened by said Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted by the Council of .the
City of' Palo Alto, at a. meeting thereof on the 14th
