CANCELLING ITS ASStltPTION or RESPONSIBI~ITY FOR
~NFORCEMENT OF THE MOBIL!HOME PARKS ACT AND RELATED
REGULATIONS OF THE CALIFORHIA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
IN TBB CITY OP PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, by Resolutio. No. 5210, dated May 3, 1976, the City of
Palo Alto assumed the responsibility as the enforcement agency of the
Mobilehome Parks Act (Part 2.1, Division 13, Health and Safety Code)J
and
WHEREAS, the Chief Building Official has recotllBlended that it is
in the interest of the City of Palo Alto to return responsibility for
the enforcement of the Mobilehome Parks Act and related regulations
of the California Administrative Code to the Department of Bouain9
and Community Development, State of California1
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby repeals Resolution No.
5210.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 18300(e) of the Health and
Safety Code of the State of California, the City Council, on behalf
of the City of Palo Alto, hereby cancels its assumption of responsi-
bility as enforcement agency of the Mcbilehome Parks Act in the City
of Palo Alto.
SECTION 3. Receipt of a certified copy of this resolution by
the Department of Housing and Community Development, State of Cali-
fornia, shall constitute notice to said Department of Palo Alto's
cancellation of its assumption of enforcement responsibility. Thirty
days from the receipt of such notice, the Department of Housing and
Community Development, State of California, shall assume responsi-
bility in the City of Palo Alto as the enforcement agency of the
Mobilehoae Parks Act and all rules and regulations promulgated there-
under.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a
certif led copy of this resolution to the Depart~ent of Housing and
Com11.unity Development as official notice of the City of Palo Alto's
cancellation of its assumption of responsibility.
SECTION 5. The Council finds tbct this is not a project under
the California Environmental Quality Act and, t• ~refore, no environ-
mental impact assesSJBent is necessary.

This office received a copy of Resolution No. 5860
on January 23, 1981 whereby the City of Palo Alto canc~ls
the assumption of responsibility for enforcement of the
Mobilehorne Parks Act as approved by the City Council
December 8, 1980.
Responding to the communication, the Department of Housing
and Commuuity Development will assume responsibility for
enforcement of the Mobilehome Parks Act on January 28, 1981.
The Department will work in a cooperative manner with the
Building Department of the City of Palo Alto through the
upcoming transitional period and request that any informa-
tion available regarding the existing or proposed mobilehome
parks will be provided to our representative. We intend
to work in a manner designed to eliminate the possibility
of inconvenience to the operator and tenants of the mobilehome
park within the City of Palo Alto.
