RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ENDORSING PROPOSALS FOR COUNTY COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING
WHEREAS, on February 12, ~ 979, the City Council adopted the
1979-82 Community Development Plan, the 1979-82 Co11111unity
Development Program and the 1979-82 Dousing Assi·~tance Plan for the
City of Palo Alto; and
WHl!:REAS, the Board of Supervisors for the County of Santa
Clara adopted a Community Development Plan, a Community Development
Program and a Housing Assistance Plan for the County of Santa Clara
for 1979-821 and
WHEREAS, the Finance and Public Works Committee and the City
Council have advertised public hearings to review proposals eli-
9 ible for both City and County Community Developir.ent Block Grant
funding 1 and
WHEREAS, the proposals eligible for County funding are consis-
t~nt with the County•s Community Development Plan, with th~
Colll!!lunity Development Pr09ram and with the Housing Assist~nce Plan•
and
WHEREAS. it is the intent of these programs to give the
highest priority to activitiP.s which will benefit low/moderate
incorae persons ana ald in the prevention or elimination of slums or
blight,
MOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVB as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby endorses the following pro-
posals subiitted to the County of Santa Clara for Comaunity
DeveloP111ent Block Grant Funding:
a. Land Acquisition for Low/Moderate Income Housing -Birch &
Grant ($500,000).
b. Housing Landbank -Terman School Site ($175,000).
SECTION 2. The Council finds that none of the provisions of
this resolution will have a significant environ•ental impact.
