RESOLUTION OF TBE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
MAKING APPLICATION ro LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
COMMISSION (LAFCO} REGARDING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE URBAN SERVICE ARE~ OF THE CITY TO INCLUDE
PROPERTY ~ THE CAMPUS OF STANFORD UNIVERSITY
WHEREAS, on February 6, 1973, the City of Palo Alto
adopted its Urban Service Area which was approved by the County
of Santa Clara Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) on
April 4, 19731 and
WHEREAS, the area shown on Exhibit •A• attached hereto and
incorporated herein by this reference, and hereinafter referred
to as the •pre•ises,• is located within the Palo Alto sphere of
influence as adopted by LAFCOr and
WHEREAS, the Premises is located outside of but adjacent
to the Palo Alto Urban Service Area; and
WHEREAS, the Premises is designated •Major Industitution/
Special Facility• on the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan Land Use
Map as is the remainder of the Stanford campus within the Palo
Alto Orban Service Arear and
WHEREAS, the City cf Palo Alto desires to amend its Orban
Service Area to include the Premises,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows;
SECTION 1. The Council hereby requests and authori:r.es
LAFCO to a11end the Orban Services Area of the City of Palo Alto
to include that property referrel't to as the Premises and aB
shown on Bzhibit ~A."
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed and autho-
rized to coaplete, execute and furnish to LAFCO such applica-
tions, docmaentation and information, and to take such other
•inisterial actions as may be necessary to facilitate and per-
mit the above authorized review by LAFCO.
SECTION 3. 'l'he Council hereby finds that the adoption of
this resolution does not constitute a pt"Oject as defined by the
California Environmental Quality Act and Title 11 of the Palo
Al to Municipal Code, and that LAFCO is the lead agency for the
purpose of preparing environmental documents relating to the
&etual change of the Palo Alto Urban Service ~rea.
