RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS Of BILL GREEN ~ PALO Al.TO
ANO CONGRATULATING HIM ON HIS TREMENDOUS SUCCESS
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
Bill Green has had a tremendous year as a frestman track
athlete at the University of Southern California
finishing second in the NCAA championship with a time of
45.37 seconds in the 400 meter, and clearly '!stab11shing
himself as one of the premier collegiate and world class runners today; and
Bill Green, in an outstanding performance, finished
first in the 400 meter finals to qualify as a 1980
Ol ymp i an; and
Bill Green has shown tremendous skill and dedication to
become one of the best track athletes in his event.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council of the City of Palo Alto does resolve ~s
fol lows:
SECTION 1: That the Council recogni2es the tremendous
achievements and sacrifice by Bi11 Green to become a 1980 Olympian.
SECTION 2; That the Council, on behalf of the people of
Palo Alto, expresses its heartfelt congratulation~ to
Bill Green anG wishes him continued success in hi~ quest to reach the 1984 Olympics.
