RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL ~ THE CITY Of PALO Alim
RECOGNIZING THE ATHLETIC ACH!EVEMENTS OF ROBIN CAMPBELL
ANO CONGRATULATING HER ON BECOMING A 1980 OLYMPIAN
WHEREAS,

Robin Campbell of Palo Alto, as a member of the Stanford
Track Clubt has esta~lished herself as one of the best
800 and 400 meter runners in the world; and
Her times of 2.01.59 seconds in the 800 meter, and 52.35
seconds for the 400 metert rate fourth and sixtht
respectively, in the United States this year; and
Robin Campbell of Palo Alto in a life best time of
2.01.23 seconds finished third with an extremely strong
competitive effort to qualify as a 1980 Olympian; and
Robin Campbell has shown trenendous skill and dedication
to become one of the best athletes in her events.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council of the City of Palo Alto does resolve as
fol lows:
SECTION 1: That the Council recognizes the tremendous
achievements and sacrifice by Robin Campbell to become a
1980 Olympian.
SECTION 2: That this Council, on behalf of the people
of Palo Alto. expresses its heartfC!lt congratulations to
Robin c~~pbell and wishes her success in her quest to
reach the 1984 01,Y'Qpics.
