RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
MERVIN F. MARTY UPON HIS RETIREMENT
ORIGINAL
WHEREAS. Mervin F. Marty retired on May 30, 1980, as a police
officer after ten and a half years of continuous
service w1th the Palo Alto Police Department; and
WHEREAS, he ma1nta1ned an overall high-level of productivity.
especially 1n the areas '>f traffic and self-initiated
arrests; and
WHEREAS, Officer Marty's motivation, integrity, and diligence
were beyond reproach; and
WHEREAS, Jtierv demonstrated h1s characteristic perseverance and
dr1ve in recovering from a tragic ann injury; and
WHEREAS, he was consc1ent,ous, an 1nsp1rat1on to others and
dedicated to the f1eld of Law Enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is proud of his work perfonnance and
appreciative of h1s efforts and dedication;
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of
Palo Alto ~ereby gratefully records it appreciation of the
citizens of this cosm1.1nity for faithful service rendered to
the City and extends to
MERVIN F. MARTY
its sincere best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
