HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5795• • RESOLUTION NO. 5795 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MARY GORDON FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERYICE AS A MEMBER OF THE PLANNING COfttISSION ORIGINAL WHEREAS, Mary Gordon has served the City of Palo Alto as a member of the Planning C001111ss1on from August 1~ 1965 to March 10, 1980; and WHEREAS, Mary Gordon served as Chainnan of the Planning Comnission from 1970 to 1974; and WHEREAS. Mary Gordon has given unselfishly of her time and talents to assist 1n guiding the growth and development of the City in the best interests of the total conmunity; and WHEREAS, Mary Gordon has made a significant personal CQntr1but1on to the connunity through her diligent and conscientious efforts while serving as a member of the Planning COlllllission; and WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to recognize the service of Mary Gordon. SALARY A. Salary Range Table Fersonnel co·vered by this plan shall receive compensation within the salary ranges set forth in the Salary Range Tables that follow Section II. The salary range for each poeition classification title and number is expressed in bi-weekly and/or hourly rates along with the approximate monthly and/or annual equivalent. B. Establishment of Salary The City Manager is authorized to make appointments to or advancements within the prescribed ranges upon evaluation of employee qualification and performance. 1. Step Insreases Merit advancements from the f irat salary atep to the second salary step anall be granted at six-month intervels and between t~e second and eubsequent steps at one-year intervals if the affected employee has deaonatrated continued improvement and eff icieut and effective aervice. For the purpoae of deter.idning •tep time requirements, time will coaaence on the firet day of the month coinciding with or following entrance onto a salary step. Basic Life Insurance 'lbe City shall continue the basic life insurance plan as currently in effect for the term of this compensation plan. 4. Long Term Disability Insur~nce The City shall continue the long term disability insurance plan currently in effect for the term of this compensation plan. Employee coverage ia subject to a vol'.llltary payroll deduction of the insurance premium applicable to the first $2000 of monthly salary for Plan B or the first $1800 of monthly salary for Plan A; the City will pa.y premiums in excess thereof. The City will pay up to $15 per month of premium for those employees without eligible dependent covered under the health insurance provisions. Effective with the p3y period which in~ludes May 1, 1981, the City will pay up to $17.50 per month toward long term disability insurance premiWJta for those employees without eligible dependents covered \lftder the health in•urance provision~. D. Educational Leave and Tuition Reim.buri::.:ament Program 1. City will reimburae expenaea for tu:ltion, book.a, and curriculum fees incurred by empl~eea in C6nfident1al classifications, to a llald.aua of $450 per fiacal year, for classes given by accredited inatitutiona of learning or approved •pecialized training groups.
