RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALO ALTO EXPRESSING SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY
OF KIJL ANGUS FOSS
ORIGINAL
WHEREAS, Kijl Angus Foss, a beloved and cherished son, gra • .c:lson, and
brother, was an outgoings conscientious young man; and
~EREAS, K1jl, a student in the seventh grade at Hoover School in
Palo Alto, was much loved by his classmates and teachers; and
WHEREAS, Kijl was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 57 ~nd a member
of the Junior Sailing Program of the Sequoia Yacht Club, Redwood City:
and
WHEREAS, Kijl participated in and enjoyed many sports including hockey,
golf, swirmrfng, rond water polo; and
WHEREAS, Kijl was known as a very sweet young man, full of 1 ife and ful 1
uf fun; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 29, 1980, Ki,il •s precious life was taken
in a sudden, tragic accident which occurred when he was enjoying the
first day of Easter vacation with his classmates fro111 Hoover School; and
WHEREAS. this City Council, citizens of Palo Alto, the state of Cillifornia,
and throughout the United States were shocked and saddened to learn of
the tragic death of Kijl Angus Foss at the age of thirteen years; and
WHEREAS, Kijl will be remembered as a shining example of the youth of
this city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Palo Alto hereby expresses
on behalf of the citizens of Palo Alto 1ts heartfelt sympathy and regrets
to the family of Kijl Angus Foss and joins them in deep mourning.
