RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO CARL B. HAUSER
UPON HIS RETIREMENT

WHEREAS, Carl B. Hauser retired on March 31, 1980 as L ieutenarit after
twenty nine dnd a half years of continuous service with the Palo Alto Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, as Coordinator of the Palo Alto Police Reserves Carl B. Hauser
increased the responsibility of the Reserve Officers by improving their selection
and training; and
WHEREAS. Lieutenant Hauser represented the Police Department as a member
of the City's Beautification ColTlnittee, City Banquet Committee, the School/
City Traffic Safety Conmittee and the United Fund; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Hauser acted as the Police liaison and worked closely
with th~ Human Re1ations C011111ission, Youth Advisory Council, Senior Coordinating
Council, Palo Alto Unified School District, the PTA and the news media; and
WHEREAS, Carl B. Hauser has done an outstanding job for the Palo Alto
Police Department in a variety of assignments, and particularly in his most
recent role as Coordinator. Police CorrJnunity Services; and
WHEREAS. the City Council is proud of his work performance and appreciative
of his efforts and dedication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Citv of Pilo Alto
hereby gratefully records its appreciation as we11 as the appreciation of the
citizens of this cOlllllunity for faithful service rendered to the City and extends
to Carl B. Hauser its sincere best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
