USOLUTIOM OF THE COUNCIL OP TB! CITY OF PALO ALTO
AU'ftlORIZIMG THE PILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION P'OR ALLOCATION
07 TRABSPORTA'l'ION DEVELOPMENT ACT ~DS POR FISCAL
YEAR 1980-81
WBEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides
for the disbursement of fu..~ds from the Local Transportation Fund
of the County of Santa Clara for use by elibigle claimants for the
purpose of ~ity Transit Services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been
adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportatio~ Agency
of the State of California in accordance with the provisions of the
aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to receive
an allocation from t&e Local Transportation Fund shall file its
application Vi.th the appropriate transportation planning agency;
and
~, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be re-
quired to provide subsi~ized taxi service for low income, elderly
atld handicapped who are unable to use public transit and cannot
drive automobiles:
NON, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby approves and authorizes the
City R'iilager to execute and file an appropriate claim pursuant to
the terms of the Transportation Development Act of 1971, as amended,
and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations promulgated there-
under, together with all necessary supporting documents, with the
.Metropolitan Transportation Commission, for Seventy-six Thousand
Dollars ($76,000) in fiscal year 1980-81 Transportation Development
Act moneys ..
l SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a
