KLECTIOB HELD IH OUTSIDE TERRITOR! POR THE PURPOSE
OF AINEXIIG SAID TERRITORY IMOWH AS •EMBARCADERO
ADEX• to the CITY OF PALO ALTO.
the Council of the Cit7 ~t Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as followa:
THAT WHEREAS, this Council did on the 6th day ot June. 19321 pass its ordinaDce calling a specj~
election tor the purpose ot subaitting the following
proposition to the electors ot said territory, to-wits
That it i3 proposed to annex to, incorporate
1n and make a part of the City of Palo Alto, the
territorr sought to be annexed, known, designated and
described as "~barcadero Annex", t01ether with the
proposition as proposed by the petition or electors
or said territory on file, that said new territory
shill be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part
or said municipal corporation, and the property therein
be, after such annexation, subject to taxation equally
with the property within said municipal corporation
to pay the specified portion of the bonded indebtedness
of said City outstanding at the date or filing or
said petit1onJ
That this Council finds that said election was
duly called and held on Jul:r 7, 19321 1n accordance
with an Act of the Legislature approved June 11, 1913,
as amended to date, in said outside territor7, and that
the el .. ct1on returns ot sa:!.d election board have been
duly tiled with the City Clerk of the City of Palo Alto,
and are now before this legislative body at its
regular meeting next atter the expiration ot three days
from and attar the date of said election tor the purpose
of this body canvassing the returns or said election;
That this Council finds from the canvass of
the returns of said electiun held 1n said territory
proposed to be annexed that the total number of votes
given and cast therein on said annexation was 53 votes;
tlmt the total number of votes given and cast therein
tor and in favor ot said annexation was 38 votes; that
the total number or votes given and cast therein against
said election was 15 votes;
That this Council finds from said canwass of the
returns of the election held in the territory proposed.
to be annexed to the City or Palo Alto that a majority of
all votes cast in such outside territory on the election
of said annexation is in favor or such annexation;
That said territory proposed to be annexed is
described officially as "'Embarcadero Annex" and is
particularly described by metes and bounds in the petition
tor an ordinance calliag said election;

For a turther description ot said territory,
reter~ce is hereby made to a map attached to the
petition or the electo~s on tile at the City Ball in
the City ot Palo Alto, which map shows the exterior
boundaries or 86id territory;
That the City Clerk of tbe City or Palo Alto
is hereby directed to caU3e a report of the canvass of returns ot said election by this City Councilto be
entered at large upon the minutes or the Council meeting
ot this date, showing the whole number of votes cast,
and the number cast in favor of said annexation, and
the number cast against said annexation.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly
J&S&ed by the Council ot the City of Pale Alto at its
regular meeting held on the 11th day ot July, 1932,
by the following vote:
